Alaska travel 2021 PART 1. i'm so excited today because we're talking about one of my favorite places on planet earth, the beautiful state of alaska. we spent one month up in alaska in 2020 between july and august working during the week, hitting the hiking trails during the weekend and taking a few days off to explore all the beautiful wonders that this state has to offer. today i want to share with you some tips to help you plan for your visit to alaska. especially if you are going for the first time. ready? let's go. tip number one. traveling to alaska during the pandemic. Here i share what the expectations are if you are traveling to alaska. however as of february 2021, it is no longer mandatory to present results of a covid 19 test. you're not mandated to take a test when you get to the airport, which makes it a lot easier for people to travel to alaska... Alaska Travel 2021 Part 2. The five main regions of alaska and understanding what every region has to offer will be very helpful for you to plan for your adventure, my recommendation to you is to go to travelalaska.com this is the official website for the tourism board in alaska and they do have this useful interactive map where you can go and click what region you are interested in, and then it's going to take you to a page with a lot of details about things to do in that particular region attractions, the main national parks, and that is going to be a good starting point for you to plan for your adventure to alaska. we spent one month up in alaska and we only explored the southeast region so that gives you an idea how much time you will need if you want to go and explore every single region of the state of alaska if you are interested or if you happen to choose the south central region as your playground when you visit alaska. we do have a lot of resources at TrianaWorldTravel.com to help you plan. there aren't many roads in alaska. most of the time there is only one road to get from point a to point b and that can be a challenge sometimes, so just make sure that you set expectations with yourself and you are flexible with your plan to make sure that you are getting an early start in the morning ,if you know that you will have to drive from one place to the other... Alaska Travel 2021 Part 3

Alaska Travel 2021, part 3, what can make alaska expensive are the type of activities you are doing once you are there, fishing, kayaking, ice climbing, hiking and some other activities can be really expensive but if you choose cheap activities like we did, we were hiking most of the time, it doesn't cost anything, sometimes insurance fees at the parks, but that was very minimal. you can pick activities that are budget-friendly, we found some activities like ice climbing and it was only $180 per person, we found some helicopter tours instead of going on a floating airplane and that only cost 125 dollars per person, so if you find some off the beaten path activities, that are kind of away from the very touristy areas, you can find some very good deals and you can still explore alaska without breaking the bank, summers in alaska has nothing to do with summer in the lower 48, especially if you're gonna be hiking, or backpacking, or up in the mountain, it is still cold so make sure that you are packing your winter gear, make sure that you do have a rain gear, layers, and down jackets, if you're going to be hiking, on pretty much every single trail that we were on, it was raining, it was very cold, make sure that you are prepared and make sure that you have all of the necessary gear to feel warm and happy while adventuring, summer midnight is such a fun phenomenon to witness, summer in alaska, the sun doesn't go down until after midnight, which was great for us because we would work during the day and the sun was still up, and that gave us a lot of opportunities to go and hike and explore the city, without feeling pressured by the sun going down, it's a really fun phenomena, so when you go to alaska and it's midnight, and the sun is not going down, don't worry, it's not the end of the world, it's just alaska, also don't expect to see the aurora or the northern lights in summer, a lot of people go to alaska during summer and they are disappointed because they don't get to see the northern lights, and who doesn't want to see the northern lights in alaska? however, it's not very common to see them during summer, you have to go further north and chances are higher during winter, you might see a lot of wildlife, or you might not see any wildlife by the end of the day, it's just a question of luck... Alaska Travel 2021, part 4, continuation, tip number two, especially if you are hiking or backpacking, make sure that you have a pair of binoculars with you, so that you can spot wildlife from far away, and the last tip is, if you are interested in photography make sure that you invest in a reliable zoom lens, who doesn't want to take beautiful photos of wildlife in alaska, we invested in a zoom lens before going to alaska. Also, Cell phone service is weak, do not rely on your phone especially for directions, it's not reliable also if you are hiking and you are in the back country, your phone is not going to be reliable, so make sure that you do have a physical map with you, or a compass that you can rely on to find directions, and find your way from point a to point b... Alaska Travel 2021 Part 5
May 6, 2021 • 1 MIN
Alaska Travel 2021, part 5, My next tip on the list, many places in alaska are not accessible by car, and that was a surprise for me, knowing that there are some national parks in alaska that you cannot access by car like katmai national park, where you will have to fly a floating airplane to get to the national park, also with kenai fjords national park, although parts of the national park are still accessible by car, we did drive to the hardin ice field trail, a beautiful hike by the way, if you are in the kenai peninsula, or if you are in seward, you definitely should check out the hardin ice field trail, it's one of my favorite hiking trails up until now, but anyway, so what i was trying to say is that with the kenai fjords national park, a big chunk of the national park is only accessible by cruise ships, kayaking, or airplanes, so don't be surprised that many places are only accessible by airplane... Small Business Brands in 2021
May 7, 2021 • 3 MIN
Small Business Brands in 2021. Local business owners i think right now are afraid that they can't stay local, so they need to know that they can, there's a lot of ways that you can still stay local in this new normal. one of the advantages local businesses have always had before covid, during covid, and after covid, is that they have a face, it feels like your face has been taken away from you because you're not face to face right now, but it's up to the local businesses to find ways to keep your face out there, they've got to leverage and take advantage and really strengthen their local position and local brand, and the way that they do that is to connect, connect with the nonprofits, connect with the other businesses, connect with the schools, with the churches, because if the businesses are teaming up with something that people really care about, because it speaks to their heart, and it speaks to what important to them, and it makes them feel good that those local businesses are supporting these things that make up your community, and who you are. what people love about local businesses and what makes them so special to customers, is that locals feel that they know them, you walk in they're like, you want your regular mocha latte with soy milk? and that's special, one way that businesses in my community are doing is they tag people who come in, and they take a picture and they put it on social media, here's liz with her daily mocha latte, you know she can't function without it, or however you want to put it, another thing that you can do is talk about your employees, people in the community, know them and that's one of the things that you have, that big businesses that aren't local don't have, they're not employing people in the community, so celebrate them, it's important for local businesses to keep in mind that it might feel like they're competing with the big online businesses right now, and they are, but they're not going to win, we won't have our small towns and small cities if we don't have a strong thriving local economy and local business, the only people who are supporting the local economies are the local businesses, and this has changed the way that i will shop, this will change the way that i do business, because it's just brought to light how important local is, and localism is to our communities, and our families.

The Story of LIFESTORY "Writing is my passion. Helping others write their LIFESTORY is a gift." —Richard Squires, creator and owner of LIFESTORY Richard Squires Author & Professor Early on, Richard had an affinity for listening to family stories and writing them down to share with others. Writing about family is at the core of who he is; it has had a profound effect on his life. Richard's career path has led him to become the author he is today. As a university professor of writing and a writer in corporate communications, he has honed his craft. He thoroughly enjoys assisting others with their writing for personal, creative and professional purposes. LIFESTORY developed as an organic connection between Richard's passion for storytelling and his drive to capture his grandfather's life stories before those memories were lost. The concept for LIFESTORY was born on Thanksgiving of 2015 when Richard's grandfather, Grandpa Ben, asked, "When are you going to write my story?" Richard created a memoir on his grandfather's behalf, molding the words gathered from the interview into an exciting narrative that preserved his unique voice. The culmination is when the book printed on the day of his grandfather's passing at the age of ninety-two. It was a heartfelt book reveal after spending so much time one-on-one with his grandfather. His memoir is a legacy; to hear him recount his LIFESTORY brings back great emotion and peace. Four generations of Squires men! At LIFESTORY, Richard's innate ability is to weave others' journeys, stories and memories into their precious narratives while respecting and honoring their unique voice. The LIFESTORY experience brings great joy, not only to the family, but to the one telling their story.
