Hello and welcome to this episode of Shop4abiz.com - And in today's episode, we are meeting Judith Browne. She's executive director with motions there. Their slogan is a Center for Independent Living and are based in Monmouth County, New Jersey, Judith. Is there anything that you want to mention or talk about MOCEANS and introduce yourself to folks? Oh, well, thank you, Daniel. Uh, yeah, so MOCEANS Center for Independent Living is one of 400 Centers for Independent Living in the United States were created under the rehabilitation act. And our, I like to say that that centers for Independent Living are predicated on the notion that people who live with a disability are still people, and that we want, you know, jobs and lives and to be included in the community, just like anybody else. So, our mission is to make that happen. Unlike a lot of charities that work with people with disabilities, we work with everybody, no matter what the disability, no matter what the problem is, were there to provide resources to help people achieve the lives they want? And that's really awesome. In a nutshell, we've been around for us. It's about 32 years now. We've been based for a lot of that time in long branch. So our event, we have, we're gonna have a beach party, this summer, now that covid is gone, uh, uh, now that we can all gather again, we're going to be gathering on the beach in long branch on september 12th. The beach is fully accessible and I mean fully accessible, no matter what device a person uses, uh, you can come down there with your family and enjoy. We're going to have a day of music and fun down on the beach on september 12th. It is a free event. We're going to have a local agencies were hoping to have a craft tent for the kids. It's just gonna be a great day at the beach. Question what entrance is that? Is that Julian avenue on the beach or? No, it is down at the Pier Village. There's a big, it looks like a gazebo at Pier Village we're right at that beach. That helps that I was thinking, I was like yes, I know there's different parts of the beach. So I was sorry to interrupt but please continue. A big shout out to the city of Long Branch too, we had this event three years ago and nobody had done this before. So we were a little nervous but we got, we got folks with the wheelchairs, walkers, canes, crutches all down to the beach and we got them off the beach again, which was great. Oh, but the city of Long Branch saw that as an inspiration and decided to make, not just one, but now to fully accessible beaches and I'm not talking about the blue Moby matt. They put out a hard deck. I think it's at Bath Avenue. And what I think down further at Pavilion where people can just spend a whole day at the beach. That is so good. That is awesome. That's got nothing. Nothing but good news. Oh yeah, it's amazing. And there they they've taken it and run with it. So the parties on the 12th it is free. And if you're looking to volunteer or if you want more information, you can find us on our website at motion. That same motions. It's spelled funny. Um, it is oceans with an M in front of it so you might just fill out the website. Please do Okay. It is M O C E A N S C I L.org. That's motionscil dot org. And you'll find information about the beach bash. Of course, if you'd like to help us sponsor that, you can also do that on our website. That's wonderful. So it's mm oceans and then C I L which stands for Center for Independent Living, correct? Yeah, you got it. That that's impressive. Usually I have to explain that you're like, you're right, There we go. That's a great way to remember it too well. So great. Doing well and look at that. You have an audience. I don't know if you can hear that they're cheering for you. Oh, I love it, awesome. I'm hoping that everybody comes on that. Like I said, there's gonna be music, It's gonna be a beautiful day, pray for sun. Not too much sun, but you know enough. Great, that's up September 12. He said September 12. Wonderful. Yeah, it's going to be here before we know it. Time flies. Oh, I know it's, it's 10 minutes to it's 10 minutes. All right now. All right. Well, thanks for coming and sharing information. Truth. I'm hoping that this helps spread the word and, you know, as much as possible and I'm grateful that we can reach out to the community and get do something positive and help spread the word about something positive. Thank you so much. I am so thrilled that you asked me here today. Thank you so much. And I'm looking forward to seeing your beach. Awesome.
