Open Relationships with Ray and Syd
October 29, 2021
At 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on Thursday nights, there is a new show on New Visions Radio. One of the co-hosts is a familiar voice, Ray Powers that many of you know from The Ray Powers Hour. Along with his co-host Sydney Hall. The show is Dare to Be Better with Ray and Syd. Last week they had a listener write in to ask about open relationships and they discussed the question. I wanted to weigh in on the discussion, so I invited them to join me for the hour to discuss open relationships and to discuss two parents and single parent families. Won’t you join us?

Meet the Hosts –

Meet Ray Powers – Show Producer / Executive Producer / Talk Show Host The male component in ‘Ray and Syd’. The one who grabs stuff off the top shelf when Ray and Syd step out to a deli on the much-anticipated lunch breaks. The one who tells us the jokes that Syd still doesn’t get…

Ray’s Bio – Born in Brooklyn, NY to a Polish-American Dad and an Italian-American Mom, Ray Powers was classically trained on piano at age 6 and had completed his first US tour with his all-teen Christian Rock band, Bliss by age 15. After another decade pounding the pavement in New York-based bands, Powers entered an internship at Mad Hands Records. Ray worked his way up the chain of command at Mad Hands and was promoted to lead producer and head of A&R. Powers co-hosted the morning drive on FM radio in New York before signing on to host his own show, The Ray Powers Hour. The RPH is globally syndicated and reaches audiences in over 193 countries.

As a bassist, Powers has backed such legends as Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members, The Drifters; along with million-selling stars Lou Christie, Tavares, The Skyliners and many more. As a solo artist, Ray has released a series of hits and in 2020 he released his first album, A Decade of Singles. He is capitalizing on his recent success with his album and various hit singles. He is the program director for New Visions Radio Network and in the last several years, has seen the network grow under his leadership.

Meet Syd Hall – Original Concept / Executive Producer / Talk Show Host The female component in ‘Ray and Syd’. The one with the beauty and the brains. (Ray can still have the brawn!) The one who’s hellbent on getting the joke.

Syd’s Bio – Sydney Hall is a true success story and the embodiment of the American Dream. Born into hopeless poverty in The Philippines, her birth mother lived on a roadside in a cardboard box. Still an infant, Sydney was adopted by Americans Ron and Linda Hall and was spared a dismal future that the dangerous streets of Manila could all but guarantee. Hall understood, from a very young age, how fortunate she was. Grade school had nonetheless presented her with another daunting challenge, as Sydney was diagnosed with severe dyslexia, which all but crippled her ability to read. Standing out as one of the very few non-Caucasian children in her Utah classroom, Sydney was subject to teasing and cruel name-calling, which exacerbated her anxiety and reluctance to participate in lessons. Undeterred, Sydney dug in and eventually defeated her reading disability. She went on to excel in both soccer and gymnastics, advancing to Elite/ODP/Olympic level competition.

When her athletic career ended, Sydney became Director/ Choreographer for million-selling recording artists on Universal, Disney and Sony/Epic Records, and the NBA’s Utah Jazz dancers. Sydney became a single mother, and there were times to struggle or to find the opportunities to reinvent herself. She raises two kindhearted and loving girls who encourage her to better herself daily, as a person, and a mother. Hall persevered, establishing Sydfemmelle, an all-female design and construction company. Sydney has shared her stories of personal courage, inspiration and prosperity at events for corporate titans such as IBM, Morgan Stanley, Smith Barney and E-commerce.
