Ep. 12 - Marrying Science and Spirit - An Interview With Mandara Cromwell
September 9, 2019
For years Mandara Cromwell has been on an incredible journey marrying science and spirit. She grew up in the farmlands of Kansas in a devout catholic family. Her divine quest began as a child with mystical experiences of angels and saints, the sounds of Latin masses, pipe organs and choirs in the Gothic architecture of a Catholic Church. Studies of art and philosophy led Mandara to follow a spiritual path to India, where she learned about sacred sound. Later after much investigation, she discovered that science confirmed her spiritual experiences. One of the most profound spiritual experiences came to her from science in the form of sound made visible. This experience led her on an intense quest to create a new paradigm for healing through sound therapy. Mandara is the CEO of Cyma Technologies and is the inventor and manufacturer of AMI Acoustic Meridian Intelligence Devices. The AMI 750 was nominated for the Thomas Edison Award for Innovation in the Field’s of Science and Medicine in 2013. She’s the author of Soundflower: The Journey To Marry Science and Spirit 2019.   Show Notes:  Listen in to hear Mandara’s story of being at the forefront of new science and her journey to follow the heart and inner wisdom to include: Sound - the Medicine of the Future Feeling sound - human physiology Early architectural influences Path changing dream Journey to India Powerful dreams that stand out Scintillating diamonds of the universe Getting caught in a cycle Seeds planted in our hearts Courage, perseverance, and love of self Importance of meditation - taking the time to go within Chinese medicine breaking ground Entrainment perspective Path to sound therapy Five frequencies, five bodies How sound can help people Master Pitch Pipe Pioneers of Sound Science in this area  Sound as specific support for the body AMI 750 Protocols Challenges of bringing this technology to the world Mandara's vision Tips on helpful sound in your environment Meditation - "ease on in" The visual expression of a healing code Advice when challenged or stuck - take a break, sleep on it, volunteer, pay attention to what is around you   References: John Kabat-Zinn Soundflower – by Mandara Cromwell John Stuart Reid, Acoustics Physics Researcher, United Kingdom 2017 Dr. Hans Jenny, a Swiss Medical Doctor, and Natural Scientist Dr. Peter Guy Manners, British Osteopath ISTA (International Sound Therapy Association)   Website www.cymatechnologies.com Free Download from Website www.cymatichnologies.com/media/ to download free Soundflower  (Free Cyma Glyph PDF)   Biography Mandara Cromwell D.C.M. The AMI 750, an advanced sound technology device, was nominated for the Thomas Edison Award for Innovation in the Fields of Science and Medicine in 2013. In 2002, she coined the term "Cymatherapy" to refer to wave therapy based on the work of Dr. Peter Guy Manners, with whom she studied extensively. She continues to promote sound as a healing modality throughout the world. As a way of forwarding the field of vibrational medicine (specifically sound therapy), Ms. Cromwell founded (ISTA) the International Sound Therapy Association. Since 2006, the organization has been producing conferences to bring new voices together in the field of "sound science." ISTA and Cyma Technologies offer ongoing classes, training, and programs in numerous cities throughout the US.  In 2017, Mandara produced the Atlanta conference "Cymatics: The Art and Science of Making Sound Visible." This event featured never before seen sound-made-visible images of the healing frequencies found in her own sound therapy devices. She acted as co-producer on two short films created at the University of Florida utilizing cymatic images: "dance divine" featuring dance, yoga, and sound images. She also co-produced "Full of Stars," a short film showing three-dimensional views of the healing frequencies. In 2019, she released her first book, "Soundflower: The Journey to Marry Science and Spirit," which includes many stunning cyma glyph illustrations.
