Diversity with Dr Susan Kaye
June 17, 2022
While we were working on writing Am I Normal If, I found that I was confused about the meaning of diversity. As Dr Susan and I were talking about it and working on the chapter about it, we found it was a great topic for a radio show. Diversity is an interesting topic and my knowledge is growing, but I do still have questions and there’s always more to learn. On this show, we share some of the basics with you and share some of our thoughts. There are interesting details and research that is rarely if ever shared with people outside of college or other advanced studies that I asked Dr Kaye to share with us. Often when I hear people online talk about diversity, they usually talk about race and gender, but we took it further than that here and in the book. The more we talked about it, the more directions we found that the conversation could've gone... Am I Normal If -- by Dr Susan Kaye is planned to be released on July 4, 2022. Stay tuned for more details!

She has expertise as a tantra teacher, bodywork practitioner, Esalen massage therapist, and yoga instructor. Why work with Susan?  Longevity. She began her career working with cutting-edge Sexological Researchers Bill Masters and Virginia Johnson. She has been speaking and teaching their Body Mind Healing Process for the past 30 years. Their research on arousal and pleasure, and the activities they developed to increase those feelings, is what sex therapists around the world use to structure client care.

These combined years of bringing body and sex positive teachings to communities around the country has required multiple leaps of faith. There have been explanations at family dinners and hopping on many lily pads to become a trained bodywork therapist as well as a clinical counselor and coach. She believes in offering clients total mind body wellness by connecting them with talk therapists as well as somatic experts to help them embody the healing they are seeking.

Dr Susan Kaye – In Her Own Words

I am one of the lucky ones who knew at a young age why I am here and am blessed with the path that unfolded before me.  I have been at the right place at the right time and the right people showed up. This mission of bringing mind-body therapy to the forefront of mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health brought me to meet the most fascinating pioneers and to experiences I did not even know how to ask for, for myself. In learning connection to my body (we are best friends), I was then able to guide and teach this connection to others. Embracing our relationship with ourselves, then passing it on to those who suffer and struggle in the body they were given is my greatest accomplishment. I have stood for this possibility for everyone who found their way to me. Our disconnect from our bodies which holds emotions, traumas and all cellular memories leads to disconnect with others. If this is not resolved, it leads to a disconnect from the global family, our universal humanity.”
