"Forgiveness is not weakness. It takes a lot of strength and courage to acknowledge the pain and the hurt, to be able to declare it and then forgive it."

Maybe you’ve been wronged by your partner, and it really hurt. You were possibly filled with bitterness, resentment and anger. It’s a choice to either hold on to the hurt or be released from it. I chose to be released from it and forgive my partner. It was not a feeling, it was a choice. I did not forget what happened, I just took the sting out of the memory. I forgave my partner without excusing the act. This is not about changing the other person, it is about shifting your perception around what happened, so that you can be present and create the future you desire.
