Mark Berridge is an expert on lived adversity, having faced the challenge of a devastating spinal cord injury following an early morning cycling incident. Mark spent 7 weeks in the hospital and a further 9 months regaining his mobility. He will have to pursue physical rehabilitation for the rest of his life to sustain the gains he has made. The accident shattered his sense of identity, causing him to renegotiate his identity as a professional, and as a husband and father.
