Nugget: How Much Is Enough?

How big does your audience need to be for you to feel successful and fulfilled? Seriously, what is enough? How much is enough? When you achieve that first goal, you suddenly have a new goal, and that cycle keeps repeating. We get entrapped in this thought pattern and think that fulfillment must be at the next level. Therefore, success keeps getting moved forward to the next thing. So, no matter where you are, it’s like “What’s the next thing?” I challenge you when it comes to your audience, look at why you are really building that audience. What is the purpose behind the vanity metric? What is it that you think you need to feel fulfilled? While you’re on your journey, you’re collecting an audience, you’re bringing people into our world. And the truth is, we really don’t need as many followers as we think. We don’t need the virtual line around the corner. We don’t need the huge follower count. We don’t need a huge email list. What we do need is connection. We need to make sure we are tuned in with our audience, and we need to make sure we are tuned in with who we are, so we project the best self that we have. So, how much is enough? I guarantee it’s not anywhere near where you’re placing that metric. You can be fulfilled now, and you can look at the numbers. How many sales? How many paying clients do you need to reach the goal, to live the life and lifestyle that you want, to make the impact that you want? You don’t need a huge following. Instead, go deeper with fewer.
