September 25, 2022
In the latest episode of the Simply Fit Podcast, I have the pleasure of speaking with Zach Bitter. Zach is an ultramarathon runner, world record holder, coach and podcaster. Zach’s achievements in running are quite simply incredible, he claimed the record of the fastest 100 miles and achieved this in 11 hours, 19 mins and 13 seconds. To put this into context, this is four, sub three hour marathons back to back. And in that same pursuit continued to run and broke the record of distance in 12 hours by achieving a total of 104.8 miles. So today, we are truly learning from one of the best when it comes to running. In this episode you can expect to learn: How Zach prepares himself physically and mentally for these types of events. What it takes to go from doing distances of 5-10k or marathons to 100 mile races. And why Zach follows and typically will recommend a lower carb diet for the runners he works with.
