Nugget: Key Differentiator Between a Successful & Struggling Business

Do you have a scarcity mentality or an abundance mentality? This can be a very key differentiator between those that are very successful in business and those that struggle constantly. A lot of us, when we enter into a business opportunity, we look around at competitors and we think, “This pie is only so big, there's only a certain amount of market share, a certain amount of opportunity that exists.”We get into this business owner mindset that there's only so much that can go around. There are more competitors so there must be less opportunity. But the irony is that the business owners that are really successful actually flip that script and think a completely different way! We need to open ourselves up, we need to lean in and see the bigger potential for opportunities. Instead of looking at our market from a competitive standpoint, how can we be cooperative? How can we look at our competitors, flip the script and say,“Oh, there's a bigger and better opportunity for all of us if we actually work together versus against each other?” Are you working competitively or cooperatively? Have you leaned into the abundance mentality or are you focused on the scarcity?
