The Self-Sabotage To Success Podcast
How To Get Over Yourself And Take Imperfect Action
October 20, 2020
Perfectionism is not benign - and striving for this hallowed, elusive, unachievable state is kryptonite to us in our lives and our businesses. It can cause us to stall, to procrastinate, to stop pursuing our dreams completely. It can cause us to create extremely negative self talk, it can lead us to think nothing is ever good enough, that we are never good enough. This week’s Resign & Shine podcast episode is ALL about how imperfect action wins over perfectionism any day of the week.
There was a hugely popular song in the UK (and worldwide) by a band called Fairground Attraction called 'Perfect'. It had an extremely catchy earworm chorus - "it's got to beeeeeeeeeee perfect".

Look. It was a great track, back in the late 80s, and many, many of us sang along. Many an ad used the song too (Asda in the 90s, I’m looking at you!).

But.

It - everything, anything - does NOT have to be perfect.

And in fact nothing ever is truly perfect.

Moreover, perfectionism is not benign - and striving for this hallowed, elusive, unachievable state is kryptonite to us in our lives and our businesses.

It’s one of my all-time favourite topics and I can’t wait to share it! Episode 7 is filled with tips and insights and I think you’ll really have a few “aha!” moments this week!

Enjoy and thank you as ever for listening.
