Ep. 16 - Post With Intention and Be Genuine
August 25, 2021 • 8 MIN
I’m back with our last episode of the month, which means this is the end of our theme all about best practices to keep in mind for your brand. Today we will be going over something I feel is very important, posting with intention and being genuine while doing it. People want to get to know you and the more genuine you are the more they can connect with you and your brand. I’m going to share some tips on how you can genuinely show up and connect with your ideal clients in the way you desire too without putting on a huge fake facade. If you are struggling with branded social media posts come brainstorm with me by emailing me at orders@double8designstudio.com
Ep. 15 - Branded Social Media Graphics
August 18, 2021 • 9 MIN
Today I will be sharing with you the different ways to stay on brand on your social media platforms, specifically, on your instagram and your facebook. A big mistake I see is when businesses have branded marketing materials and websites that look great, but then their social media is all over the place. Remember that I say to be consistent on all platforms and this is one way to do that. Make sure you have branded posts and a routine for your social media. Listen in for the tips that I share and be sure to leave me a review telling me how you plan to implement some, or how you already incorporate your branding across your SM platforms! If you are wanting to have your social media audited email me at orders@double8designstudio.com
Ep. 14 - Check In With Your Brand
August 11, 2021 • 7 MIN
How often should you be checking in with your brand? You should be doing a quick check-in every six months to make sure your brand is still inline with your ideal clients wants and needs. Also, if you are looking to pivot your business this is a time you absolutely want to be doing a check in with your brand. Remember your logo and brand is more about your ideal client preferences than it is about yours. If you are not attracting the clients you want to attract you might need to rebrand or even consider hiring a copywriter who can help you with the tone of your messaging to target your ideal client more effectively! If you are struggling with your branding, be sure to grab my Branding Starting Kit.
Ep. 13 - Be Consistent Across All Platforms
August 4, 2021 • 6 MIN
This month I will be covering best practices to keep in mind for your brand. This episode, I will be talking about being consistent across all platforms. Your color palette should be the same throughout your marketing materials, your website, and your social media, graphics and social media feeds. Your fonts as well as your tone shouldn’t be changing either. When using a branding designer they will have all the hex codes and they should be providing those to you to use for other graphics later. Don’t change your colors or your fonts without a rebranding. This will only lead to confusion with your ideal clients. Make sure and listen in!
Ep. 12 - Brand Photos vs Stock Photos
July 28, 2021 • 28 MIN
In this episode we are wrapping up unpopular opinions for the month. The topic is all about photos. More specifically, that you should use your own branded photos instead of stock photos. I am going to be joined with a special guest to help me get the point across. Casey Jade owner and badass photographer of Casey Jade photography. She is my first ever guest on this podcast. Casey Jade is the talent behind my amazing branded photos that I use on my website and social media pages. She makes me look great and I am so thankful to have her as part of my team when it comes to my business. Stock photos are great and they have a purpose but they will never be able to compete with a branded photo of you. Stock photos are to be used as a placeholder until you can go get professional photos done. Stock photos won’t allow you to infuse any of your personality or your brand colors. Using stock photos can cause your clients to lose trust in you and your business. There can even be legal ramifications if you are not paying for the licensing. When doing a photoshoot for your business, think of it as an investment. Come listen to all the tips and tricks that Casey is giving out for you to do your own branding photos as well as what to expect if you were to hire her, or another professional to take your branding photos.
Ep. 11 - Develop A Strategy Before the Appeal
July 21, 2021 • 10 MIN
A solid foundation for your business is everything. I have talked about building a solid foundation for your business in earlier episodes and today I will be going into more detail about having that foundation in place and why it is so important. Building a foundation for your business before diving into your design will give you the strategic plan or playbook that will help you make your designs. If you have already done your research on your ideal clients it will be easier for you to have the plan for what you want the design to look like, and who it should be targeting.I am a big fan of SWOT analysis. SWOT stands for strength, weakness, opportunity, and threats. Strengths are an integral part of your business. Weaknesses are the areas that you improve. Opportunities are the areas that will allow you to get your business into the spotlight for others to see. Threats are the areas that can put you out of business.
Ep. 10 - Color Palette is Chosen By Your Client
July 14, 2021 • 11 MIN
Should your business color palette be some of your favorite colors, or based on your client? Unless the color palette you are using will attract your ideal client, you shouldn't use it. Color psychology is a real science, and should be paid attention to in branding your business. All colors have certain representations and each of them affect how we act and feel subconsciously. When designing your logo and your brand you need to put in the time and effort to research your ideal client. If you want your ideal client to buy your products or services you need to know how to attract them to your business, and one thing that will attract your ideal clients is by having the color palette that they are drawn towards. If you are struggling with your branding grab my Branding Starting Kit.
Ep. 9 - Canva is Not Where You Brand Your Business
July 7, 2021 • 10 MIN
Welcome back to The Brand Standard. It’s a new month and that means a new topic. This month I will be covering unpopular opinions. In this episode, I’m giving the unpopular opinion that Canva is not the place that you design your BRAND. Canva does not make you a graphic designer and Canva is not the place to design logos and branded social media graphics. Now if this upsets you that’s okay just keep listening because I share with you why I believe this and what I recommend to do instead of Canva. While you can start out on Canva and I completely understand why many do, you shouldn’t stay on Canva long term for your branding, exactly why I recommend a brand designer and all the benefits your business will reap from doing so! Be sure to listen in and leave a review!
Ep. 8 - Once You Develop Your Brand, You Don't Update It
June 30, 2021 • 8 MIN
This episode will be wrapping up June's topic of mythbusting. This is my favorite myth to debunk and it hurts me that it is even out there. The myth goes, once you develop your brand you don't have to update it. In the last episode I talked about your brand having a return on your investment and to do everything you can to keep that return coming in you need to check in on your brand from time to time. I want you all to stay on brand and continue to get a return on your investment. In order to do that you need to make sure that any changes happening inside your business are in alignment with your branding. The worst thing that can happen is a change in your business and your branding staying the same causing no new clients to come to work with you. In this episode, I’m going to be dropping a lot of information about changes that result in you needing to look at your branding so make sure you listen in, and leave me a review with what you found to be most helpful!
Ep. 7 - Branding Doesn't Have a ROI
June 23, 2021 • 9 MIN
Today I am going to cover the myth that branding doesn’t have a return on investment. The real question should be how doesn’t your brand have a return on investment? Your investment is placed on your business the moment you decide to get your brand professionally designed. After your brand is complete and distributed out into the world, that is when you see a return on investment. When someone sees your logo, they will start to recognize your business. People will begin to see your logo icon as a whole, and will start to put the icon with the business name. I’m going to be explaining why in fact your branding WILL give you a return on investment in your business. So make sure you listen in, and leave me a review with what you found to be most helpful!
Ep. 6 - Branding is too Expensive
June 16, 2021 • 11 MIN
Hello everyone and welcome back to mythbuster month. I’m debunking the myth that branding is too expensive. First off, yes, branding can be expensive but it should be viewed as an investment not just an expense. There are a lot of factors to consider when we are talking about the amount of money that goes into branding. In this episode I share tips on how to find a brand designer that is great for you and your business, why and how to look at branding as an investment in your business vs. an extra added expense, and tips on how to break up the cost to make it a bit more affordable if needed. Make sure you listen in, and leave me a review with what you found to be most helpful!
Ep. 5 - Keep It Simple
June 9, 2021 • 10 MIN
Ready to debunk yet another myth about your logo? Your logo goes on everything. Everything from a piece of paper to a pen to a billboard. Don’t make the mistake that I have seen so many others make that I talk about in this episode. Your logo not only needs to look good on the computer, it needs to convert to small print items and large print items. Keep it simple! Your logo is the first thing people see and you will want it to withstand the times so you don’t have to worry about rebranding anytime soon. I’m giving away a bunch of tips and tricks of how to make your logo and have it outlive the trends so make sure you listen in, and leave me a review with what you found to be most helpful!
Ep. 4 - Your Brand is More Than Your Logo
June 2, 2021 • 11 MIN
Welcome to this week's episode all about branding myths. I have been doing this for 10 years, and I have heard some crazy stories about what a brand is and how you are supposed to brand your business. Over the next month I am going to be debunking these insane myths that are tied around branding. If you haven’t heard of some of these, that’s okay. You will be able to hear the clarity side first and be on the right track when you start branding your business. While your logo is the thing that comes to mind when people think of your business there is way more to branding than just a logo. There are many elements to branding your business and you should develop it in stages. People tend to think after they’ve had their logo made they have done all they need to when branding their business, and that is just so far from the truth. I’m going to be debunking this thought here in this episode so make sure you listen in, and leave me a review on your thoughts about this myth!

What is branding and why do you need it?
May 28, 2021 • 14 MIN
So, what is branding & why is it so important in your business? Even though the idea of branding can feel overwhelming, it is essential for setting your business up for success.
