In the world of entrepreneurs it's common to hear the advice "suck it up" and you'll be glad you did when you're making all that money, enjoying fame, etc. But is that true? Do we really have to do things that feel out of alignment with who we are to create what we want? Here's my experience and what I've learned.

There is so much advice out there showing us "how" our marketing should sound. And there are a lot of clever ideas out there telling us how we can be seen and stand out. In my experience, however, what our audience wants most is US; imperfect, a little messy but being who we really are. In this podcast I share my personal journey going from clever (and not very effective) to authentic, messy and far more effective when it comes to connecting with the people who want what I offer.

We tend to think of our inner critic as a kind of "touch love" coach who just wants us to be our best self. But after having a little chat with my own inner critic I learned that, no, what she really wants is to keep me safe as a respected member of the tribe. So how do we help this fierce mama bear back down so we can move forward?

It feels really good to refer people to someone who does good work. Really! People love to send referrals. However, it's quite possible you could be making it a lot easier for people to send clients and customers. In this episode I explain the mistake many of us make in our marketing and what we can do to make ourselves a lot more referable.

Specifically those gremlins who live in us who want to keep us safe and invisible. How do we get our shadow gremlins to back down and give us some breathing room?
