Losing my Reputation with John Blanchard
June 4, 2021
What does your reputation mean to you? What if it was ripped away and tarnished? What if you weren't in the wrong but only "guilty" by association? How would you feel? What would you do? Difficult questions, for sure, but listen in as Emily welcomes John Blanchard on the show as he talks about why he is not sorry for losing his reputation.

About the Guest:
John’s passion is to inspire growth in individuals and teams in order to transform lives.
John is in his eighth year as a leadership development consultant for the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Previously, John served in a similar capacity with the Kansas City Royals, also for six seasons. John has been connected to and has demonstrated leadership in the world of athletics his entire professional life. He had a 28-year career in college athletics, 25 of which were at the University of North Carolina. During his last 11 years at UNC, John served as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Services. In that capacity, he created the first leadership academy in college athletics, the Richard A. Baddour Carolina Leadership Academy, an effort that has been copied dozens of times by college athletics departments across the United States.

In addition, John served on and chaired several ACC and NCAA committees throughout his
career. John earned a B.A. in History from Stanford University, where he competed on the football team, earning first-team All-West Coast honors his senior year. He coached college football for two years (Stanford and Cornell) before earning his master’s degree in social work from San Diego State University. John then directed a nonprofit agency in Orange County, North Carolina, for which he was inducted into the Order of the Long Leaf Pine “for exemplary service to the State of North Carolina and [his] community.”

John has been married for 41 years to Dawn London Blanchard, founder and president of a college consulting company. They have three grown married children and four adorable
grandchildren.
