The Practice of Learning Teams
Part 6: Women’s perspective and approach on the New View of Safety - Tanya Hewitt
November 17, 2021
Welcome to the 61st episode of the podcast series. Today we continue exploring the Women’s perspective, adoption, and approach on the New View of Safety/Learning Teams.
Hi Safety FM listeners, this is Glynis McCarthy, one of the co-hosts of the new podcast series The Practice of Learning Teams, with my fellow co-hosts Brent Sutton and Brent Robinson.

Our goal is to support you on your journey and build a better community of practice for Learning Teams.

Today I continue exploring the Women’s perspective, adoption, and approach on the New View of Safety/Learning Teams, where I have a discussion with women who represent:

1. Organizational Leadership
2. Industry Advocacy
3. Safety Practitioner
4. Regulatory Authority

We will explore that individual's own journey, the role of gender in safety, and the potential of the New View of Safety and Learning Teams.

On today’s show, I am joined by Tanya Hewitt, Tanya has a background in Regulatory Authority in the Nuclear Industry and currently is a Health and Safety Practitioner in the new view of safety. Tanya describes herself as a lifelong learner. She is passionate about safety science and human and organizational performance. She decided to begin Beyond Safety Compliance when the podcasts she listens to and the people she knows in the field were beginning to reveal that the concepts, ideas and practices of the evolving field of Safety Differently and Organizational Health were taking shape and making a real difference in the organizations that were employing them - from the ground level to the C-Suite.

Please join Glynis and her special guest Tanya, as we learn and improve together.

We hope that you enjoy the series and we continue our journey of learning and improving with Learning Teams.
