The Link Between Gestalt Coaching, Design Thinking and Creativity

#007 - In this episode, my guest Gill Stevens shares her story of becoming a coach, some of the challenges she encountered along the way, one of her favourite coaching approaches – Gestalt coaching, and how she blends coaching and design thinking to foster creativity. Give it a listen.
 
#007 – As coaches we have our clients’ best interests at heart. However, even the most noble intentions can’t save us from encountering challenges sometimes. Either caused by the coaching context or by a difficulty to find the right coaching approach (or let go of the models we’re used to). 

Gill Stevens, my guest on today’s episode, faced a cultural challenge at the beginning of her coaching career – coaching in Asia where the expectation was for her to come up with the answers. She shares that story and how she overcame it, as well as imparts useful advice for new coaches.

 Dr Gill Stevens is an experienced design thinking professional and Leadership and Executive Coach with exposure to working in a multi-cultural setting. She is a workplace mediator whose coaching practice and experience span across organisation levels, generations, and cultures. 

Gill also works as a Design Thinking Coach facilitating Design Sprints for in-house teams and is working on developing a team coaching model based on Design Thinking principles.
