Bàrbara Pardo, JDPSN
December 29, 2020
What is a great woman? The practice of Zen is about looking inward and seeing who you really are and what this life is about.
Bàrbara Pardo, JDPSN, was introduced to Buddhism through her parents, Fernando and Rosana, who were some of Zen Master Seung Sahn’s first students in Spain. Her father has served as abbot of Bori Zen Center in Barcelona since the 1980s. Barbara began her own practice after meeting Zen Master Bon Shim in 1994. In 2008 she reestablished a permanent home for the sangha in Barcelona. Later, in 2012, she and her husband, Tonda, moved to the Pyrenees to help establish Bori Sa Retreat Center. Barbara is a graphic designer who works for the publishing company La Liebre de Marzo, which has published many Buddhist books, including the Spanish editions of Zen Master Seung Sahn’s books, Dropping Ashes on the Buddha and Compass of Zen. Barbara received inka from Zen Master Bon Shim in 2019.
