#014 - In this episode, my guest Lisa DeAngelis talks about how she was able to incorporate coaching into her days and work with private coaching clients alongside her full-time job at the University of Massachusetts, Boston. #014 – If you’re thinking of starting a coaching business, you might be tempted to quit your job and go all in. While that works for some people, it’s not a good idea to jump into it without a financial cushion and a solid network. Instead, many people start and grow a coaching business alongside their full-time job.
That is what Lisa DeAngelis, my guest on this episode, has been doing ever since she founded Dragonfly Coaching. In the process, she found a routine that works for her and her loved ones and also for clients and her employer. She was kind enough to share it with us.
Together we talked about:
- Lisa’s story of becoming a coach
- The significance behind the name Dragonfly Coaching
- Negotiating with your employer and managing conflicts of interest
- What is the hardest thing about running a business while being employed
- What a typical working day looks like for her
- How she balances her work as an employee, running her coaching business and having a personal life
- Lisa’s advice for people who are thinking of starting a coaching business alongside a full-time job
Lisa DeAngelis, the founder of Dragonfly Coaching, helps professionals clarify what success means to them and create the conditions to achieve it. She has published several peer-reviewed articles on leadership, teamwork, and transformation and is the director for the Centre of Collaborative Leadership at the University of Massachusetts Boston.
