My guest today was introduced to me through Taryn Helper, a mom I interviewed a few weeks ago. If there is anyone on this planet that has a pulse on where alternative education has come and where it is going, it’s Dr. Peter Berg. Dr. Berg has over 25 year’s experience with alternative school systems. He’s worked in everything from Democratic schools, to self-directed learning environments to innovative public school programs. Professionally, he’s a mental health counsellor and coach for teens. Clearly he’s very passionate about helping teens find their true potential. He’s also the main conference organizer for AERO, short for Alternative Education Resource Organization. AERO happens to be the only organization with a global reach that brings learner-centered educational alternatives together under one roof. Today we’re going to explore where education is headed, learn about the vast resources AERO has that you and I can take advantage of, and hear about AERO’s conference happening later this month, which I’ll also be presenting at.
