[00:01:00.080] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:01:00.630] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And your classes and programs focus on yoga, Tai Chi, meditation, martial arts and energy healing at all levels.

[00:01:08.820] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:01:09.340] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So I want to let people know a little bit about you and about your training and background. You are certified in Qigong, yoga and Tai Chi. You're a certified health coach from the Institute of Brain Education, and you're also a Certified Emotion Code practitioner.

[00:01:25.720] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:01:26.210] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So you have an interesting story about how you came to be familiar with body brain yoga with your own personal journey. So can you share a little bit about your own journey that you had?

[00:01:41.180] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. My major was electronics in the University. And then after graduation, I worked as an electronic engineer. But actually, I wasn't happy with my job because I didn't know what to do in my life. I chose electronics as major because it was the most promising major at that time.

[00:02:10.720] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So a job outlook?

[00:02:12.480] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. When I got graduated, I could get a job very quickly. So that's why I chose. So I have lots of physical issues. I and because I didn't know about my life. So I had fear and anxiety,

[00:02:31.090] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Anxiety.

[00:02:32.220] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Anxiety. And so I had stomach issues, and I had kidney issues, lower bag issues. So many things were going on in my body. So I went to the hospital almost every day after work. So in the morning, I went to the work and after work, I need to go to hospital to take care of myself.

[00:02:54.320] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Oh, my goodness. Was it a lot from stress in that, too, from the job?

[00:03:00.600] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
I think more like a stress from the life because I didn't know what the life is. And I didn't know why I was born, what the purpose of my life. So because I didn't know the answers, I just lived like others, and then I always fail to deep inside. There must be something more than this. But I didn't know what it is. I didn't know where to find and things like that.

[00:03:32.260] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So what led you from going to the hospital every day after work to kind of into this holistic health journey.

[00:03:41.790] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Actually, because I didn't know the answer. But I was getting because I didn't like my job. So I got stressed from my job, too. I don't know, subconsciously or something. So I wanted to stop what I was doing at the time because I had a family I couldn't. So actually, I prayed to be laid off.

[00:04:13.930] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Please let them fire be.

[00:04:21.070] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So I prayed. And because I prayed, I wished it happened when it happened inside, I said yes. Now I need to find something that I really love. I didn't know what it was, but I thought I need to find something that I really love. But at the time, because I had so many physical issues, I need to do something. So at the time in Korea, because it's not a yoga, but it's like an energy study. It's called tangent breathing is a special type of breathing.

[00:04:57.610] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Breathing?

[00:04:58.510] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. So currently it is a body and a yoga. So. I attended the classes there. And even though I was very good at kind of sport, it was not easy for me because it's all different types of stretching. And I'm going to explain maybe later, but all the different types of opening blockages, it was hard for me. But after that, so they asked me to take a finding True Self work shop. So.

[00:05:38.490] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Finding

[00:05:39.490] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
True Self

[00:05:40.780] - Candi Broeffle, Host
 Finding your True Self workshop.

[00:05:44.310] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So I attended the workshop and it was life changing experience to me. I got the answer that I had since I was a leader. So through that worker ship, I found my true self. And then everything changed from the moment since then, I didn't need to go to hospitals at all because of everything, my energy, my body healed myself.

[00:06:12.290] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Wow.

[00:06:13.370] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
It happened just in two months like that.

[00:06:16.100] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So I think it's really interesting when you talk about that because it's one of the premises of the show of granting conversations. It's really listening to our intuition. And when we know we're not feeling well, we need to find the answer. And you did that. I knew that you were not well. And so you sought it out. And now now you're in a place where you're healthy and happy and satisfied in life and living the life that you feel you were put here to live.

[00:06:46.060] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:06:46.720] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So following that purpose. So your own struggle or your own health struggles dealt with anxiety. Do you find that a lot of your clients who come to you also struggle with anxiety?

[00:06:59.700] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. I find out this more recently. So more and more people have anxiety issues. It's a severe like that. Also depression and things like that.

[00:07:13.560] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So what do you think is the difference that it's coming up more so now and this is speculation, right? I mean, we haven't done any studies on it, but it does seem like there's more people who are exhibiting with anger and anxiety and different issues.

[00:07:33.150] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
I think it's because people do not spend time with themselves, so they don't go to nature often. So more like they are spending inside doing internet and all the games and also or kind of Facebook get all in the computer and phone so they don't do anything just like a finger exercise or just looking, watching and things not doing things like that.

[00:08:11.270] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. And we're going to talk about that today.

[00:08:14.080] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:08:14.360] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So one of the things that you do at Body Brain Yoga is something called the BEST Method and BEST stands for brain Education systems training. And the Best method includes five stages, which are sensitizing versatilising refreshing integrating and mastering. And we're going to talk about each of these as we go through the show today. But let's start off with talking about sensitizing.

[00:08:39.430] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:08:40.070] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
What is sensitizing sensitizing means. Is awaiting your own sense. We all have our own sense to feel what it is right or could. But we are losing that sense. That sense. So you need to awaken that sense. What is true or not.

[00:09:07.000] - Candi Broeffle, Host
What is true for ourselves or not true.

[00:09:09.400] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:09:09.760] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:09:10.880] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
We need to awaken the sense. It start from your body. So when your body become numb, you cannot know. So you need to sensitize your body and brain. Every part of your body is connected to your brain. So by sensitizing, but you cannot sensitize your brain directly. So by using your body, you're going to sensitize your brain. So when you sensitize your brain so you would know, like even when you try food, your body says right away, no, this is not good.

[00:09:47.920] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So if it's something that's not good for your body, your body knows right away.

[00:09:52.330] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:09:53.020] - Candi Broeffle, Host
But we ignore it,

[00:09:54.490] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes ignore it.

[00:09:55.620] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And we become kind of numb to it. So part of sensitizing is using your physical body in order to reawaken to become more aware.

[00:10:05.530] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:10:08.690] - Candi Broeffle, Host
This stage of awareness, how do you do it? What are some things that you take people through in order to build that awareness?

[00:10:16.280] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
To sensitize your body and pain. First thing is you need to open your blockages in your body utilizing five ways. First one is stretching. I think everyone knows knowing it is nothing unless you do it is stretching. So you need to utilize all different parts of your body. So when you stretch, you feel very discomfort over here and there in your body.

[00:10:45.420] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And that's okay. Having that discomfort is okay, because that's building that awareness. Okay. So when we come back, we're going to continue to talk about the other four steps to sensitizing your body. And we're also going to then move into the other aspects of the five stages as well. For people who want to learn more about what you do and to register for your classes, they can visit BodyNBrain.com and that's Body N the letter N Brain.Com/Maple-Grove, or you can call 763-208-4246.

[00:12:01.300] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Welcome back to Green Tea Conversations, where we delve into the pages of Natural Awakenings magazine and talk to the professionals who share their expertise on natural health with you. I'm your host, Candi Broeffle, and today we're talking with Master Hong Kim, the owner and instructor at Body and Brain Yoga in Maple Grove.

[00:12:19.380]
I'm so glad you're here with us today.

[00:12:21.220] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
I'm glad to.

[00:12:23.180] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So we started off by talking about the first step in the best method, which is the Brain Education Systems training method that you use at Body and Brain Yoga. And so the first step is sensitizing. And you were sharing that there are five steps within sensitizing. The first one is stretching. And so the next one is twisting. Tell us about that.

[00:12:45.840] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Twisting means you need to twist your muscles. So then staying on energy and your muscles will come out like when you squeeze wet cloth, water coming out, water is coming out like that. So you need to twist the muscles.

[00:13:01.860] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And how do you do that? Is that like a physical thing that you do with just a

[00:13:06.550] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Simply you can twist and you can twist your body.

[00:13:10.320] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So you can twist your body by turning side to side or turning your arm from this front to back or tie to bottom?

[00:13:17.040] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:13:17.140] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. And then the next step?

[00:13:20.510] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Next step is joint rotation.

[00:13:24.760] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Joint rotations.

[00:13:25.970] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So you have major six joints. So we need to rotate all the joints because the negative energy gathers in your joint very easily. Well, so that's why you need to rotate when you get a second ten in your joints, you will have athritis and those kind of things later.

[00:13:47.970] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Its precise. Any of those kind of.

[00:13:50.400] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:13:51.160] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Tightening of the joints. What are the 6 joints?

[00:13:53.380] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
6 joints is like a risk and elbow shoulders and your hip joints. And you need an anchor. It's major six joints. So you need to open up.

[00:14:04.980] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so you teach exercises in class that teach you how to rotate those.

[00:14:10.210] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:14:11.100] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. And then what is the next one?

[00:14:13.120] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Next one is called the tapping.

[00:14:16.390] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Tapping.

[00:14:17.420] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. Seem to tap your body. I think most women tap their face when they do make up.

[00:14:24.480] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Yes.

[00:14:25.110] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
But why not your whole body. So your body has a 600, 365 energy points. Energy gates. We call them acupressure points. Those are major energy doors in your body. You know the expression knock. The door will be open.

[00:14:43.380] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Yeah.

[00:14:43.750] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Self knock every tool in your body. So the door, open up and so you can release toxins from your skin. So one of my members, she's all the members. And she said, well, I didn't know I couldn't hear this much. Great. After beating of my body.

[00:15:02.140] - Candi Broeffle, Host
After beating myself, I didn't know I could feel that.

[00:15:05.310] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Well, simply with the love you to tap your body around the three to five minutes, you can try anytime. Then you will see how great you can feel.

[00:15:18.580] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And it's pretty simple. I mean, you're not hitting certain points. I mean, if you're just tapping your body, you're going to there's 365 points you said?

[00:15:27.760] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
You can everywhere. But while you keep tapping, sometimes you'll find the only one spot you want to tap only one spot continuously. That is your natural feeling power.

[00:15:41.880] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:15:42.610] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So then you need to keep tapping there. And then when you finish, when you open up, your hands will move actually a different part of your body. But for beginners, just you can tap everywhere. If you add a sound, it'll be really good, like a sound while you're tapping your chest. I sound is good for your heart. So while you're typing, you can say so you can release lots of stress, emotional stress from your chest.

[00:16:13.520] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Oh, interesting. Okay. And then the next part of it is before we move on. I do want to say I find it interesting because there's 365 acupressure points. And then there are twelve?

[00:16:27.040] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Energy centers. We call them meridians.

[00:16:30.520] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Meridians. Okay. So twelve meridians and seven?

[00:16:34.960] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Seven Chakras. So, like, we have seven days a week. So we have seven Chakras in our body, and we have twelve energy pathways. Meridians, like, we have a twelve month. Here we have 365 energy points, architectural points. Like we have 365 days a year. Our body is related to the universe. We cannot live by itself. We are living in the ocean of energy called the universe. So we need to communicate with the universe and Earth for our own health and happiness and peace.

[00:17:09.820] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So another way that you do this in sensitizing is for vibration.

[00:17:15.560] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:17:16.140] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So what is vibration?

[00:17:17.460] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So vibration is the most efficient way to be connected to our natural rhythm. People become sick because they lose natural rhythm with negative thoughts and emotions with negative thoughts and emotions. Yes. So there are five stages levels of vibration.

[00:17:37.600]
So. First stage is called conscious vibration. You want to start vibrating your body with your intention. And if you keep going, you want to release lots of thoughts, and then you going to the next step is called the same conscious. Sometimes you are doing your vibration with intention, but sometimes if it happens, voluntarily.

[00:18:01.160] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. So voluntarily is more semi-conscious.

[00:18:06.260] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:18:06.810] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:18:07.370] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
And the next step is unconscious. You're not doing with your intention anymore. Your natural healing power take over your body, and then your body moves automatically, depending on what they need. Then healing will happen from that stage.

[00:18:24.510] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:18:25.230] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
If you go deeper from there, you need to meet your so meet your soul. Yes. If you go deeper from there, you going to meet your divinity. That's the power of vibration.

[00:18:38.110] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so you teach people from the conscious level, teaching them exercises that they can do to actually raise the vibration. So what would be maybe an exercise that you would teach during sensitizing.

[00:18:52.370] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
During the sensitizing, I utilize five ways in the class. Sometimes I focus on vibration more. Sometimes I focus on stretching more. Sometimes I focus on rotation more. Sometimes I focus on tapping more depending on members condition. So I change the way I'm teaching.

[00:19:13.260] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so you teach all of these in class. But is there a certain I know when I was in with you, you were teaching me tapping? Yes. Okay. What is toe tapping?

[00:19:26.460] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
You can put your head together, either laying down or sitting. If you lay down, it'll be better. So you can put your head together and open and then touch your toe.

[00:19:38.980] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Touch your big toes together. To keeping your heels together, you open your feet and then you touch your toes, your big toes together.

[00:19:46.600] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:19:46.850] - Candi Broeffle, Host
The trick is that you're going to start going really fast.

[00:19:50.300] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So in the beginning, you cannot do it fast. But if you keep doing in the beginning, you feel pain here and their discomfort. But as we keep going, blockages will open. It will become easier. And then you can also increase speed.

[00:20:06.440] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:20:07.040] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So why this is really working? Because six energy channels are flowing to your toes.

[00:20:12.280] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Six energy channels going to your toes. So it's opening the energy channel. This is excellent. So when we come back, we're going to continue our conversation with Master Hong, and we're going to learn more of the steps of the best method, including the next one, which is Versatilising. So to read the online version of Natural Awakenings online, visit Natural TwinCities.Com. You can find a podcast of the show on AM950Radio.Com on Apple and Google Podcasts. And anywhere you get your podcasts, you're listening to Green Tea Conversations on AM950, The Progressive Voice of Minnesota will be right back.

[00:21:00.970] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Welcome back to Green Tea Conversations, where we delve into the pages of Natural Awakenings magazine and talk to the professionals who share their expertise on natural health with you. I'm your host, Candi Broeffle, and today we're talking with Master Hong Kim, the owner, and instructor at Body and Brain Yoga in Maple Grove. Thank you for being with us today.

[00:21:20.360] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Thank you.

[00:21:21.280] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So before the break, we started talking about the first step in the best method. And again, the best method is brain Education Systems training that you teach to your clients at Body Brain Yoga. So the first step was sensitizing. And now the next step is called versatilizing. And what is versatilizing?

[00:21:42.310] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Versatilizing means to make your brain flexible. So our brain is we are living in some kind of pattern circuit or already. It's kind of hard to change if you see, like a master.

[00:22:01.900] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Yes. Like a body builder?

[00:22:04.060] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes, they have power. But the flexibility is different thing, right? So they're not flexible to our brain needs a flexibility is flexible. So can I change my thought as I want? Can I change my emotion as I want? But if you cannot change those things, that means your brain is not flexible.

[00:22:26.620] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So sometimes people think that they don't really control their emotions. I'm a very emotional person. So I can't I cry easily. But that's what you're saying is that means that your brain is not flexible,.

[00:22:42.960] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right? So you need to use your brain as you want. Can I use my body as I want? Can I use my emotion as I want? Can I use my information as I want? That means you have a control ability.

[00:23:00.160] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Controllability.

[00:23:01.170] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
But if your brain is not flexible, it will not happen. So I need to make your brain flexible.

[00:23:08.140] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So how does making your brain flexible help you at a physical level?

[00:23:13.450] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Physical level. We could mind and body communication coordination exercises like you can take your left them out and the right Pinky out.

[00:23:27.590] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. So I'm going to kind of share with the audience when I went to see Master Hong. He taught me this as one of the exercises that you can do. And I have to admit, I don't think I have a very flexible in. So on the right hand, we're going to put our thumb out and hold the rest of our hand like a fist. And in our left hand we're going to put our Pinky finger out and hold the rest of our hand like a fist. And then what do we do?

[00:23:57.660] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
And then you can switch, write them out and let the Pinky out.

[00:24:03.260] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So then you switch and you do it the opposite way. So you're kind of going back and forth. So first right them out, left Pinky out, then it's left. I left them out and write Pinky out.

[00:24:18.030] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So you can think maybe you can do it. When you try to do it, you will find yourself. It's not easy. So your thoughts is the same. I want to think this way. I want to change my emotion. You'll find out how difficult it is. So do the practice. You need to change. So usually Wednesday, we do many mind and body coordination exercises. Through this, you to create new snatches in your brain, new synapses. So 100,000 printers are dying every day. But you can create new synapses.

[00:24:57.610] - Candi Broeffle, Host
New connections with our brain.

[00:25:00.360] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right. So on to build new circuit in your brain.

[00:25:05.220] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And this also helps not just with in brain flexibility is huge, but with the aging process too, the more you keep your brain flexible, then with any kind of maybe memory issues, that kind of thing.

[00:25:20.400] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
We're trying to reduce that this mind and body communication. I mean, a personalized exercise will help your brain helps a lot.

[00:25:30.220] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So help your brain stay young and help you be able to retain that memory.

[00:25:34.760] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:25:35.290] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And there's a lot of exercises that's not just the only one, but that's one that people can kind of easily try out. And you said that there's actually a YouTube channel that people can go to if they want to get more information on brain education.

[00:25:51.780] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. It is called the Brain Education TV, brain Education TV.

[00:25:56.940] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And it's on YouTube. And so if they just do a search, they can do that. And it'll show some of the other exercises. And I highly recommend people try it. It's really great information. I'm excited to be more near you, so I can come to your classes more when I actually eventually moved down here. But in the meantime, I am going to check out the YouTube channel because it's fun to do, but also it cracked me up when I was with you trying to figure out how to do those.

[00:26:30.130]
And you're so good about laughing along with me. So the next step in the brain in the best five methods is called refreshing. What is refreshing?

[00:26:43.030] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Refreshing means literally says refreshing. So you need to make your brain like a new.

[00:26:50.440] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:26:51.350] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
You need to wash your brain, wash clothing so you feel how good it is. So what's your brain? There are so many information and the memories that you don't want to have.

[00:27:04.080] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:27:04.810] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So you don't know how to.

[00:27:05.980] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So you're cleansing your brain of any of the negative memories or negative experiences.

[00:27:11.670] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Refreshing means cleansing your brain. So your parents give their best for you. But to be sorry they didn't know who they were. So they gave their information their belief like or the fashion belief and also the emotions and things like that.

[00:27:33.480] - Candi Broeffle, Host
The fear.

[00:27:37.220] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So you received as a little baby, you didn't have any filter. So you received all from them even though they did their best. To be sorry, you got a lot from them. So I need to check the information that you have your belief system that you have. It is true or not. So you need to find out and then you need to let go. So your brain will become new to include put you need to upgrade your brain.

[00:28:08.100] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Upgrade with better information.

[00:28:10.330] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. Right. So if something is not helpful for your heart and happiness and peace, why don't you let go.

[00:28:19.910] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Let go of it and let it leave your body. And you have exercises that you do in classes with those as well.

[00:28:32.160] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:28:32.560] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. And then the next step is called integrating what's involved in the integrating stage.

[00:28:39.560] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Integrating space means actually human beings are using only 2 to 5% of their brain. So we have lots of latent faculties in our brain, but we are living very limitedly. So you need to awaken your latent potential in your brain. So you have three layers of your brain neo cortex, limbic system and brains stem.

[00:29:10.830] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So the neo cortex is actually related to?

[00:29:14.020] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Thinking.

[00:29:15.190] - Candi Broeffle, Host
To your thinking. Okay.

[00:29:17.630] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Thinking brain. But sometimes because we have lots of negative information, we think negatively. So we are prone to negative way. So you need to let up all the negative information. There's a quarter doubt. Yes. You need to lack of your thought about yourself, your true self, your real power. You have original power. deep inside your beauty inside. But you doubt about it because the information that you heard from the past so you to let go of them. And then next level is your limbic system, which is emotional brain.

[00:30:08.800]
So last emotions are involved in your limbic system. So it will let go of all of all the base of all the emotion is fear. Yes, love and fear. But mostly they choose fear, not love, love about yourself.

[00:30:30.100] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And we're choosing fear because that's what we've been taught, right? We've been taught that doubt and fear and insecurity. So once we've refreshed and been able to let go of that, now we're integrating those.

[00:30:42.730] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right?

[00:30:44.410] - Candi Broeffle, Host
You said neo cortex or limbic system. And then the third one is.

[00:30:51.780] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Brainstem.

[00:30:52.700] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. Brain stem is the life brain?

[00:30:56.000] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. There's no thoughts and no emotion. So the original vibration is there. So true self is there in your brain stem level. And so you see you feel things from your true-self level. Not from your thinking brain, not from your emotional brain level. So truth remains in your brain stem level. But to go there you have to let go of the doubt and the fear so you can reach.

[00:31:28.160] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So it's really helping to integrate the three of them together.

[00:31:32.560] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes. Vertically, neocortex limbic brain stand horizontally, your left hand right at together.

[00:31:40.890] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay. So horizontally is limbic brain.

[00:31:43.450] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:31:44.600] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
And so what would be you would do exercises to help people to do that as well.

[00:31:51.410] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:31:52.620] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And what types of things do you do?

[00:31:55.440] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So through the energy meditation. Also, there are different kinds, but so many things. I cannot do this at a regular class.

[00:32:09.540] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:32:10.830] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
It's more like a high-level workshops. We can do that. But in the class you can think of simply like energy meditation. So energy meditation not related to thoughts, energy meditation. So when you are connected to energy, your thought stops and then emotions come in to release emotions. And then there's like, nothing less. When you go really deep with energy, there's nothing new. And then you'll find who you are. Then you will see the thoughts that I have is just mine, not why? So you can release your thought and your emotions fears.

[00:32:53.700]
Then you will know who you are. You're going to be connected who you are. So from there, you want to think, how can I make this happen? So that state you can utilize your thoughts and emotions to achieve what you want, not become a slave of emotions and thoughts.

[00:33:14.400] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So you get to choose. You get to be in control of it.

[00:33:17.470] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:33:19.680] - Candi Broeffle, Host

[00:34:30.750] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Welcome back to Green Tea Conversations, where we delve into the pages of Natural Awakenings magazine and talk to the professionals who share their expertise on natural health with you. I'm your host, Candi Broeffle. And today we're talking with Master Hong Kim, the owner and instructor at Body and Brain Yoga and Maple Grove. And just before the break you were sharing that the training you offer called BEST, which is the Brain Education Systems Training and that you offer a variety of classes to help work through the different stages.

[00:35:04.010]
And those stages are severs tilizing, refreshing, integrating and mastering. And so we've talked about the first floor and the final one is mastering. So what happens in the mastering stage?

[00:35:19.090] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So mastering statements, you'll materialize all four stages. You need to keep sensitizing your body like you clean your house every day. So if you skip cleaning for one week, what happens?

[00:35:37.110] - Candi Broeffle, Host
It gets very messy,.

[00:35:38.610] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Same thing. Your body will be desensitized. Okay, so you would lose a sense that when you lose a sense, you want to keep accumulating negative information again. So you need to keep sensitizing your body and your brain. And then also you need to keep working on developing your brain power so more flexible. There's no limit. So to keep sensitizing and fertilizing, then keep replacing. So we are living in the society without knowing. Lots of endlessly information is coming into your body and your brain. So you need to keep refreshing your brain.

[00:36:28.730]
You need to check. Is there any negative information affecting my life? Is there any negative emotion affecting my life right now? You need to refresh your brain and then you need to integrate in. There is in your daily life. It is happening all the time. So you need to focus. You need to bring focus into you. So you need to sensitize your sensitize and then personalizing and refresh and integrating. So this is mastering.

[00:36:59.430] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So instead of kind of just going through life and letting life happen to you, you're becoming much more purposeful about what it is that you're doing, what you're thinking, what you're feeling.

[00:37:13.020] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So mastering trait is really important. Thing is to have a dream they really want from my heart. So no dream means there's no light in your brain. So you need to have a dream. Dream will light up your brain stem.

[00:37:33.040] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And when you say dream, you don't necessarily mean a dream that you have at night.

[00:37:37.910] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
No.

[00:37:38.270] - Candi Broeffle, Host
You mean a vision for your life, purpose for your life. Okay.

[00:37:42.760] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Kind of mission or vision. What is my dream that makes me truly happy trying to find your dream. So to achieve your dream or mission or vision so you can to utilize four stages. If you don't know who you are, you cannot find your true purpose in life. Everyone is living with some kind of purpose. But to be sorry, those purposes didn't come from their true self. Even after achieving, they don't feel happy. Maybe one week or one month or later they feel lost again.

[00:38:19.880] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay, it isn't that true. We tend to think that this one thing is going to make me happy right now when I achieve this, that's what I'm going to truly be happy,

[00:38:30.560] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:38:30.840] - Candi Broeffle, Host
But if you don't understand who your true self is, right, you're not going to get there. And so with body brain yoga, it really is about connecting the body, the brain and the soul or the spirit together to really be able to make those achievements.

[00:38:46.800] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
That is the only way you can make yourself truly happy and truly peaceful and truly joyful.

[00:38:54.230] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So one of the things that you do, you offer many different group classes, but you also offer an introductory class for people who are just interested in learning more. And in the introductory class, you have a one on one session, so you have a couple of different things. But let's start off with the one on one session that you do for new members. What is that session like?

[00:39:17.480] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So people need to know themselves. Then they will know what to improve. What be careful about. They think they know, but usually they don't know their condition. So I'm going to check their flexibility, balance and mind and body coordination and breathing pattern. Your organ condition, your energy blockages like that, so they will learn about their condition so they can choose so I can guide what they need depending on their condition.

[00:39:45.890] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So once you have that one-on-one session with them, then you can make recommendations for the classes that they may want to attend and.

[00:39:52.590] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
The workshops and things like that.

[00:39:54.660] - Candi Broeffle, Host
The workshops. Okay. And the really cool thing is is that in the month of April, you actually have a special. So they get $5 off that class. Now, a lot of the times people go, oh, $5 off the class. That's not much. But in all actuality, that introductory class is just $15. So $5 off means it's $10 for a one-on-one 45 minutes session with you. That's very generous. And then you also have another special, another $5 off special that includes for new members. That includes that one-on-one special are the one-on-one introductory meeting. And then they can also take a group class.

[00:40:34.010] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Right.

[00:40:34.850] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so the group class may be anything. It's something that you might recommend to them, or they just might be interested in trying. Correct.

[00:40:42.500] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:40:42.770] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so for that one, it's normally $25. So with the $5 off, it's only $20. That just seems so affordable.

[00:40:53.520] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:40:56.750] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, what are some of the classes that you offer? Where would be like a group class? That would be a good place for people to start?

[00:41:06.270] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Class every day. Our focus is different. Like Monday is organ detox.

[00:41:12.070] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Mondays are organ detox.

[00:41:13.780] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Tuesday we focus on more deep stretching and strengthening.

[00:41:16.700] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:41:17.530] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Wednesday is more mind and body coordination exercises. And then Thursday is the Friday is vibration.

[00:41:26.020] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:41:26.690] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So Saturday and Sunday it depends on members condition with a different way like that.

[00:41:36.770] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So it kind of depends on who shows up for the class and what people need the most. Still.

[00:41:41.140] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Yes.

[00:41:41.920] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay.

[00:41:43.060] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
So class consists of opening blockages is exercises like utilizing five ways and then breathing exercise. People need to know how to breathe. And then end is meditation and then finishing exercises. So that's how class .

[00:42:01.930] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Is very structured that way. And it's open to anybody. You don't have to be at a certain physical level.

[00:42:07.720] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
No.

[00:42:07.910] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Even I could do the classes?

[00:42:09.560] - Master Hong Kim,  Guest
Of course.

[00:42:12.180] - Candi Broeffle, Host
