Welcome to the That's Life podcast. You're listening to Richard Butler where I show you how you can make your life better. Let's do this.

Hey guys, Richard Butler here and well, it's another monday. It's another time for podcast and this week I think I will get it out on monday if you've been following my podcasts, you know that I podcast on monday, but sometimes I don't release until a Wednesday because something comes up. But today is going to be different. Well, today I'm talking about having enough because this weekend I had enough. I was just, I couldn't take anymore and I had enough. But what the heck am I talking about? No, it was nothing bad. I had enough sleep. And I mean, I mean I really did on saturday morning. I got up At about 25 past 10:00 AM, which for me is unheard of. We had a great day. We, we did lays around a little bit, but then we went down to the beach. I took a couple of drone shots. You can check those out on instagram. My handle is richard butler photography, give it a like follow me etcetera. And then we went to bed on saturday night and we didn't go to bed that like maybe about half 12 1. And what time did I wake up on sunday morning or should I say sunday afternoon, About quarter past 12. It's an amazing feeling. It was a complete guilt free feeling.

I was talking to my wife and I said, well, we'll have breakfast now and as soon as we're finished breakfast, we'll start making lunch because it was, it was so soon after. But the fact is that I had enough sleep this weekend and I feel great today. I feel, I'm starting the week of full of beans. You might hear it in my voice, you might not hear my voice or you might see some videos that are put up this week and you'll see the difference. But do you know what else I did yesterday on sunday we did nothing. We started a netflix series. It was only about 10 episodes and we finished it last yesterday. We had a marathon of um, of netflix and my wife said to me, you've already locked the front door and I said, honey, I said we never even opened it. So we did absolutely nothing. But it was the most amazing feeling because sometimes you just need to do nothing. Sometimes you have to say enough is enough of work. And when I actually did yesterday, what made such a change was that I actually put my phone on silent which is not new but I put my upper watch on do not disturb.

So for most of the day I didn't even see any of my notifications and that was refreshing. Now when is the last time you did that? When is the last time that you said enough is enough? And you switched off your phone or you switched off notifications and you slept enough for me. The key here is we have to listen to our bodies because normally I don't sleep as much of my body during the week. Will always wake up at about six o'clock in the morning. I'll snooze until about quarter to seven and then I'll get up and have coffee, I might meditate and then I'll go to the gym if possible. And then I work, I'm working out probably from eight o'clock until eight o'clock I'd say every day with a little bit of a break but I'm enjoying it. It's my time. I do what I want and that's it. But at the weekends it's time to relax and my wife keeps saying it to me and it's true there's nothing important to do at the weekends that can't wait until monday. Sure I answered a couple of emails that may result in some sales for me, which is really important But I don't need to do anything else. I do 30 minutes just checking a couple of things on a Saturday and Sunday and that's it and I learned that that is what I needed.

That is what my body was telling me to do. That is what I had to do. So my thought for today is have you had enough, have you had enough sleep? Have you had enough exercise? Have you had enough time to yourself Work hard Monday. Through Thursday take a little bit easier on Friday. I usually try to finish by six and then make sure that the weekend is for you and your family or your partner or whoever else is in your life at the moment and just do that, that's all you need to do and then you will feel refreshed. You will start the week in a different state of mind because by the time thursday came I was super tired, tired at about four or five. Actually last thursday had a wicked headache through the whole week and it was because I hadn't slept enough for the weekend and I was getting up too early. So now what I try and do is maybe monday Tuesday Wednesday. I get up early, I tried to go to the gym and then on thursday morning I will sleep a little bit later till half seven or eight. Um and that's it but listen to your body, take time to yourself. That is what I want to get across today.

Actually. Speaking of which I'm gonna be putting on a webinar in the next few weeks. Just check out my linked in on my facebook or subscribe to the podcast or just go to Richard Butler Got Coach and subscribe to my mailing list there. But I'm going to be putting together a free webinar On how to take a 30 minute break And it's essential for your well being to do this. To take 30 minutes or 15 minutes even go for a walk. Just get a change of scene because we're all working really hard. And if we do this, you may hear the rumble of the train just below me, apologies. Um when we do this, we come back stronger rather than weaker.

So listen, that's me over and out for this week. Um you will hear this on monday. Make sure you subscribe to the podcast. If you're listening on Spotify and apple music on, be cast subscribe.
