Ep #91: How Personal Development Reflects Self Worth
January 16, 2023
What does self-worth have to do with self-development? I explore some personal insights into how our decisions regarding our continuous learning might yield clues to how we value ourselves.
Investing in yourself is one of the most important things you can do to ensure your success and happiness. Whether it's through skills development or self-development, taking the time to focus on yourself can have a huge impact on your life.

But what exactly is the difference between skills development and self-development?

We explore the concept of investing in yourself, on a personal level.  Practical skills that will directly benefit you in some way – either professionally or personally. By investing time and effort into improving your existing skillset, you'll be able to open up more opportunities for yourself and increase your chances of success. Self-Development Self-development, on the other hand, focuses more on personal growth rather than specific skill sets.

Self-development activities are designed to help you become more aware of who you are as an individual and how best to use those qualities for success in both professional and personal settings.

The benefits of investing in both types of development are numerous: improved confidence levels; increased job satisfaction; greater ability to handle stress; improved problem solving abilities; enhanced communication skills; increased motivation levels; improved decision making capabilities; better relationships with colleagues/friends/family members; increased creativity levels…the list goes on!
