Relationship With Yourself Part 2: Relationship With Your Past
October 18, 2022
How we relate to ourselves is vitally important to understanding not only our identity but how we live our lives. In this episode, David Dubé shares what he calls 'timeline perception', a way of viewing our past that puts it into a framework that can be viewed whether physically or mentally. He then discusses how we use the events we place on that timeline as a relationship to our current and future circumstances and how this defines us. One of the most important aspects of who we believe ourselves to be is how we relate to our past.

By viewing a timeline of events from our past we can bring into focus the things that are important to us. These things can be great memories of love, connection, and joy we've experienced, yet they can also be events of pain, hurt, and trauma.

By visualizing a timeline of events that are magnified to us, we can then begin to create a new understanding of those events and change the relationship we have to them - especially the negative ones.
