Live Your Shining Life, Naturally #1 with Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Laura Hedlund, Annette Rugolo, and Lily McNamara

[00:00:03.180] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Good morning and welcome to Green Tea Conversations, the radio show that delves into the pages of Natural Awakenings magazine to bring you the local experts who share progressive ideas and the latest information and insights needed so you can lead your best life. I'm your host Candi Broeffle, the publisher of the Twin Cities edition of Natural Awakenings magazine. And I'm honored to bring these experts to you. Today in our studio, we are having our third show that is focused on your Shining Life Expo and your Shining Life Expo for everyone out there. And we want to let you all know it is Saturday, November 9th. So, it's this coming Saturday and it will be at the Doubletree Hilton over in Roseville. We start at 9:30 and we go until 4 o'clock and we invite you all to come out. It is a free event open to the public. And we really look forward to welcoming you there. And as a part of that, I am asking our premier exhibitors, which are the people who are also doing presentations to come in and kind of share with us what they're going to be doing at the expo and what their presentations are going to be about. And today in our studios, I have Laura Hedlund from AM950 Radio. She hosts a show called Food Freedom Radio, which we're going to talk about in a minute. Welcome to the show.

[00:01:24.600] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
Thanks.

[00:01:25.650] - Candi Broeffle, Host
She is our pro today, having her own show as well. And then we also have Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, and Chelsea is with MetroEast Wellness Center.

[00:01:38.190] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Natural Healing Center.

[00:01:39.120] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Natural Healing Center. Thank you. So, Chelsea, you are going to be sharing with us also about what you're going to be offering at the booth. We'll get into that in just a minute. We also have Annette Rugolo and Annette has been with us a few times and she'll be sharing with us how you can be with her during the event and all the things that she'll be doing. And then finally, we have Lily McNamara of the Bhakti Wellness Center. Welcome to the show, Lily.

[00:02:08.700] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Thanks for having me.

[00:02:10.290] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, to get us started, I want to start off by talking with Laura. Laura Hedlund is with AM950, which is also our platinum sponsor for the event. And so, we are so grateful that they are such a big part of helping us put this all together. And as a part of that, Laura is also going to be there with a booth, an AM950 Radio booth. So, tell us a little bit about AM950 Radio.

[00:02:38.910] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
Well, I always like to start the stories that we're owned by a person who only owns one radio station and in a sea of conglomeration. I mean, I think that I also have to ask you the question why you call it shining life. But I'm going to get to that, I'm to wait for a second. But part of that is having agency and freedom. And so, having this station that's owned by a person who only owns one radio station is critical in the ecosystem. It is that autonomy and that agency. And I do believe and I'm going to ask you why you named it Shining Life. Because I do believe that we really do have a shining life and then somehow we need to be able to wake up and how we create systems that function for all people. That's our natural self.

[00:03:26.070] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so, Shining Life Expo is really about the people who are our exhibitors who come are helping people to find their best life, to find the life that makes them shine. And so, that's in all aspects. It's our health. It's our environment, it's our spirituality. It's in everything that surrounds us. So, how...So, Shining Life Expo it's really for people who want to come and have that shining life. So, that's why we named it that.

[00:03:58.140] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
Cool, cool, cool.

[00:04:00.120] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so tell us a little bit about the programming that is on AM950 for people who may not know.

[00:04:06.960] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
So, AM950's programming is diverse. We have a lot of different voices. And that's our shining light. And so, we have Elie, who's transgender. She has an awesome show. We have Native Roots Radio. We're local with Matt MacNeil. We have Thom Hartmann. So, we're an all-talk station from a progressive viewpoint. And I, but also from all viewpoints. I mean, I'm also feeling a lot of this need to move towards unity. And that doesn't mean unity does not mean conformity. It means the opposite of conformity. It means individuality.

[00:04:42.450] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Yeah. And so I think the thing that's really interesting is during the week, there are a lot of shows that are more politically based, and then on the weekends, you have more of the health and wellness shows. And so, I assume that there are still spots available for more health and wellness shows to come in.

[00:05:01.680] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
We need diverse voices. We need to find ways of being ourselves in public spaces. And that's challenging, isn't it? But, yeah, we have a lot of room we need. We need to create space to create this shining light and awareness of the impacts of the condition system on the planet. I mean, climate change is the blaring alarm going off. Whatever we are doing, we're creating the sixth mass extinction on the planet and so we can have a better world. And being out loud about it is the path, right?

[00:05:41.190] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Yeah. Share what you know, share what you know with other people so that they can know. So, tell us about what people can expect when they come to see you at the booth.

[00:05:51.840] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
They can expect, I never know. But Jennifer and I will be at the booth and we have plenty of, AM950 bumper stickers. So, we'd love to give you AM950 bumper sticker window cling. Love to talk about the variety of programming that we have. Any questions people have. So, we'll just be there open to what people want to talk about.

[00:06:19.230] - Candi Broeffle, Host
If somebody were to want to start their own show or advertise and support this independent radio station, they could talk to you about that as well.

[00:06:28.470] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
We would love to have that conversation. We really would love to have the conversation. And I like the phrase regenerative economics. And so how we can find a way of supporting the values that we want and the values we want for our children and their children. And right now, our conditioned economic systems operate on a lot of fuzzy math.

[00:06:52.920] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, you also are going to be doing a presentation, and this is for... You host a show called Food Freedom Radio. And so, part of what you do is educate people about our food systems and what's happening. And so tell us about the presentation that you'll be doing.

[00:07:11.310] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
It's a couple of... It's a little ways away, so I haven't quite figured it out yet. But I did. My idea is to just do a quick overview of the problems with the food system. So, we know a billion pounds of pesticides are used. We know that the Gulf has a dead zone. We know that for the first time, human lifespan is actually decreasing. We have a dramatic rise of chronic diseases, food allergies, diabetes. We also know that there has been a radical shift in how humans eat in the last hundred years. There have been dramatic shifts in how we eat. And so, we will be talking about ways to eat. And so, one of the little things I know I want to do is bring my jars from the co-op. One of our sponsors is (7:53). And so, one way to eat affordable and healthy is to buy pulses and grains, lentils and grains, beans and grains from the bulk section. And I want to be talking about how to cook, how to cook. I also would love for people to share their ideas about lazy, good food. I mean, how do we cook in a way that honors water honors soil, and honors our body?

[00:08:14.340] - Candi Broeffle, Host
What do you mean by lazy good food?

[00:08:16.710] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
Well, OK, so I actually, I had a friend that, she was way into French cooking. So, she told stories about, you know, you could start around two and then get ready to eat around seven. And I like that type of cooking. I like Babette's Feast. I think there's a place for that. But there's also a place for I'm showing up. It's like six o'clock and I'm really hungry and I need to eat in fifteen minutes. What can I do? And so, I like to have some of those, some recipes like that. And you know, some of the things may sound kind of silly, but it's like I like to just put fresh cauliflower in with the takeout packets, you know? I mean, but and but also you can make some good vegan soups, some really quick way of making sort of a polenta-like thing is to use cornmeal and your favorite seasonings and put it in the microwave for a few minutes. So, I want to collect some of those recipes. I'd like people to share their ideas on those recipes as well. And so, when I was at the state fair, that's one thing I did as I asked people for their lazy good food recipes. And is there a way of, you know, bridging this gap of, you know, when those are those times? I mean, again, I like to do some very conscious cooking, too. I like to have, you know, get into it. But I also think there are times when I just want something fast and healthy.

[00:09:39.040] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, I'm really curious if you guys have any lazy, good food ideas.

[00:09:46.450] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
We don't.

[00:09:52.030] - Candi Broeffle, Host
But that's a great workshop to be able to offer people, because there are so many people that are like us that are like, gosh, I don't know right offhand what I can do at a moment's notice or, you know, how much do we really think about planning ahead that much? Sometimes it's just like, oh, my gosh, dinners here, suppers here and I have to get it on the table.

[00:10:13.000] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
Well, and that's one thing I will be talking about is how to have a pantry. So, you have certain things. I know I always have red lentils and green lentils and I always have these things on hand. I have my TVP texturized vegetable protein. I have a couple of things on hand that I know how to cook, that I can cook really quickly with. And then I also know how to cook in my yard. I like, in the summer I can just go outside, grab some greens and saute it with some eggs.

[00:10:39.440] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Yeah. Makes for a nice healthy quick dinner. And so that's what it's really about, is really sharing some of those ideas, things that are affordable, that are quick, that are easy for us to do, and that are really healthy, that are really healthy alternatives so that we stay out of the drive-through line.

[00:10:57.670] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
And our health is connected with the health of the planet. We're not separate. Yeah. So, I mean, and it's hard in this world because, you know, the fast food is there and it's, you know, so it's hard to find it.

[00:11:09.160] - Candi Broeffle, Host
It's easy to go in there and get it.

[00:11:11.170] - Laura Hedlund, Guest
Right. Exactly.

[00:11:12.880] - Candi Broeffle, Host

You're listening to Green Tea Conversations on AM950, Progressive Voice of Minnesota, and we will be right back.

[00:12:01.110] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Welcome back to Green Tea Conversations, where we delve into the pages of Natural Awakenings magazine and talk to the professionals who share their expertise on natural health with you. I'm your host, Candi Broeffle, and today in our studios, we have Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Annette Rugolo, and Lily McNamara. And we will be talking to each of them throughout the rest of the show. But right now, we're going to start with Chelsea and Chelsea, you are with Metro East Natural Health Center. And so tell us a bit about the Metro East Natural Health Center.

[00:12:37.920] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Absolutely. So, MetroEast Natural Healing Centers, it's okay, we've changed it in the last year or so. So, I still adjusted to the new name. Certainly, we're located in Oakdale and we have a few modalities that we use in the clinic. But our big goal, of course, is to help people regain their wellness. You know, people come at the health sphere for a few different reasons. As you know, as practitioners, they want to help people get better. They want to, you know, raise natural health care in the world. For me, for us at the clinic, it's really about helping people restore their health so they can live that shining life, that vibrant life that you talk about. And so we get to help people find the right path for them to really take charge of their health and get where they want to be.

[00:13:18.990] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So what kind of services do you offer?

[00:13:21.510] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
So, we have chiropractic care in the clinic, nutrition response testing, which is our primary nutrition modality, and then health coaching services as well, because we know that you can take, you know, every supplement in the world, but your lifestyle has to match the way that the way that you want to feel. So, we really work on kind of a balance between how you live your life and and how you feed yourself so that you can get to the health that you want to have.

[00:13:42.330] - Candi Broeffle, Host
That's really interesting. So, you are having a booth at the expo as well. And so for people who are going to come up to the booth, what they what can they expect?

[00:13:52.970] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Yeah, so in the clinic, we have a few really fun tools, helpful tools that we can use to help identify why someone's health isn't where they want it to be. Usually, there's some type of toxicity and then some type of malnutrition going on. And we have a few different ways that we really get to the root of what's the issue and how do we solve that. One of the tools we have in the clinic is called the Heart Sound Recorder, and it records the sounds of the four valves of the heart and it can give us some information about any malnutrition that the heart might be dealing with.

[00:14:24.000]
So if the heart is missing a nutrient, the kind of old adage in nutrition is the heart eats first. And so, if the heart is missing something, we know there's probably something else going on with the body as well. So, we are actually bringing the heart sound recorder to the event so we can do kind of a demonstration for people so they can get a look at am I missing some type of nutrient, is there something going on, what can I do to feed myself, you know, supplement wise, but also food-wise? What can I do to nourish my body as fully as possible?

[00:14:50.520] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Oh, wow, interesting. And is that a low-cost or no-cost service?

[00:14:56.310] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
A no cost. Yeah. No cost kind of screening. Just a little look, a little deeper look into what the body has to tell us.

[00:15:02.190] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Very good. So, people who are concerned about choosing or getting everything that I really need. They can come in and find that out. How long does that take?

[00:15:11.610] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Just a couple of minutes. It's a really sensitive it's technically a microphone. There's an echo curtain on echocardiography sono cardiograph. It has a very technical name. It's a very sensitive microphone that listens to the valve. So it's very non-invasive and it's pretty quick and only takes a few seconds to read each of the valves. And then it gives us a visual printout so we can look at what the sounds of each valve are up to and and look at some nutritional things based on that.

[00:15:37.680] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Oh, that's so interesting. I can't wait to do that myself.

[00:15:40.560] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Yeah. Absolutely. It's fun.

[00:15:43.200] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, you are also going to be doing a presentation. And so, what is the presentation that will be offered by Metro East.

[00:15:50.920] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Yeah. So, Dr. Furlong, who is my colleague, my mentor, the owner of the clinic, he will be leading his how can I accelerate my healing class. We run it in the clinic as well. But he's really excited to bring it to the expo. When we talk about health and you ladies are familiar with this, there are kind of three main causes of health loss or three types of stress, physical stress, chemical stress, and then emotional stress. I don't usually have to explain what emotional stress is people know that one. Chemical stress, that's the toxicity and malnutrition and we focus a lot on that realm in the clinic and then physical stress, you know, chiropractic adjustment, you fall, you injure yourself. And so in the how can I accelerate my healing workshop? Dr. Furlong goes over how those three things are connected. We look at it like a triangle because you can't impact one of those areas and not have an impact on the others and then go through some really real-world applicable tools on how to improve each of those areas of health so you can, you know, lift yourself to where you want to be in a really balanced, balanced way.

[00:16:50.850] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, people are going to really be able to take away from the workshop really tangible things that they can do...

[00:16:57.750] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Exactly, wherever you're at in your health journey. I'm going to apply this in that today, and so the, you know, dietary changes I'm making or what I'm trying in the spiritual realm, all of those things can work better when you can, you know, it's like three legs of a stool. They have to sort of be in balance and you can start to apply those things right away.

[00:17:16.450] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And now in the clinic, what is it that you in particular do?

[00:17:20.140] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Yeah, so I am a holistic nutrition practitioner. I specialize in nutrition, response testing. I don't know if you're familiar with that. It's a non-invasive way to identify what is kind of causing a barrier to healing for the body, whether that is some sort of toxic, you know, food sensitivity or heavy metal or immune challenge, that type of thing, and then that malnutrition side of it as well. What's the body missing? It's non-invasive. It's safe and really effective because it's very targeted at getting to the root cause of someone's health concerns that they're having.

[00:17:52.930] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And I, I have had nutrition response testing done. But for people who haven't, you say it's non-invasive. So, there are no needles. There's nothing like that. But give people an idea of what that is that you do.

[00:18:05.980] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Yeah. So we use applied kinesiology or muscle testing to get a very in this moment accurate read on what the body is dealing with, what organs or systems are under stress. Why is that happening? And then and what can we do to help the body? And our goal is always to support the body, to naturally return to its own function. We don't want to override a system or force the body to do something we use. If we use supplements, we use concentrated organic Whole Foods supplements that really feed the tissues and help them return to normal function so that someday they're just healthier, normal functioning tissues versus kind of sort of functioning along, I guess.

[00:18:45.970] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And if for people who want to find out more or want to contact you at the clinic, how can they how can they get a hold of you?

[00:18:52.930] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Our website is NutritionChiropractic.com. It sounds like kind of a mouthful, but it's just the word nutrition and the word chiropractic put together. All of our services and a better description of our services are listed there. Of course, you can reach us via email or phone as well. The info@nutritionchiropractic.com is our email email address and I can list the phone number. It's on the website as well, of course.

[00:19:18.250] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Well, go ahead and give us the phone number.

[00:19:20.110] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
651-771-1703 is the phone number.

[00:19:24.280] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And one more time.

[00:19:25.810] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
651-771-1703.

[00:19:29.920] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay, great. Yeah, and it's really nice. People can go there, they can see all the different services. They'll be able to talk to you about it at the expo.

[00:19:39.040] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Absolutely. Yes. I, you know, I don't think anyone gets into health care because they're only interested in one area of someone's life. We really love to get to know the people that we work with. And so, as they heal and they get better, not only do we get to see, you know, the health of your liver or kidneys or brain are improving, but what does that allow you to do? And how can we celebrate those wins in your life of feeling better and being more present and, you know, active in your life with your family, with your your friends, your activities that you like to do. And so we're excited to be at the expo to get to know people there as well.

[00:20:11.770] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And we are excited to have you.

[00:20:13.660] - Chelsea Kazmierczak-Goethel, Guest
Thank you.

[00:20:14.560] - Candi Broeffle, Host

[00:21:00.650] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Welcome back to Green Tea Conversations, where we delve into the pages of Natural Awakenings magazine and talk to the professionals who share their expertise and natural health with you. I'm your host, Candi Broeffle. And today in the studios, we have Chelsea Kazmierczak Goethel from Metro East Natural Healing Center. I keep saying Wellness and Annette Rugolo of Annette Rugolo and Lily McNamara of Bhakti Wellness Center. Thank you, ladies, for being with us today. And today we are talking about the Your Shining Life Expo, which is this Saturday, November 9th. And we start at 9:30 a.m. We go until 4:00 p.m. and it is at the Doubletree Hilton, the Doubletree by Hilton over in Roseville. Now, the thing is, Annette, you were there last year. People come in, they spend the entire day with us. They come in early in the morning and kind of just make a day of it going to the we have free workshops, people at booths who are giving free services, who they can learn from. It's just it's an entire day to really focus on yourself and your own well-being. So, you were there last year with us?

[00:22:15.790] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
Yes. It was amazing. I love it.

[00:22:17.990] - Candi Broeffle, Host
It is. It's so much fun and it's so much fun just to you guys make it just so phenomenal. It's the energy of our exhibitors and, of course, the energy of our attendees that really make this a special event. And once again, we're really looking forward to it. But Annette, I want people you've been on their show a few times.

[00:22:38.540] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
Yes.

[00:22:40.220] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And you've done a lot of things for me and have been wonderful environment for our family. But I want you to share with people who may not have heard about it yet what it is that you do.

[00:22:52.700] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
I am a dowser. And what that means is I use the technique of dowsing to find lower vibrational energies in spaces and not only to find them, but cure them. So I actually transform the energy, the vibration of spaces, and raise bring in more light, raise the vibration to support people in their environments.

[00:23:24.530] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so, you have been with us a few times on the show, and a couple of things that we talked about before you went into really explaining what it is pretty thoroughly and what you do in the previous shows. And then in the last show, which was just very recently aired, we shared what happened when you came and did some dowsing for myself. So, for people who are interested, go back, take a look at those shows again and listen in and learn more about it, because it is it's a phenomenal service that you provide people. And I'm happy to say you're going to be doing this at the expo before the expo.

[00:24:07.160] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
Oh, yes. So, I need to share this. So, last year, somebody, one of the exhibitors ended up in was having a really tough time in the space that she ended up in. She called me over. It turned out there was a negative vortex that she was sitting in. And I went over, shifted it, and she had an amazing day. So it totally transformed how she felt in the space, how her clients or customers felt. So, you invited me to douse the whole space this year.

[00:24:41.780] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Well, and there was more to that story, too. It wasn't just our exhibiter, wasn't just an idea. It was also the gentlemen; who work there was really having a frantic and really a difficult day until you did the dowsing and then it completely switched for him.  And he was just so happy and helpful and wonderful to work with and having a great time. And, you know, it was just it was phenomenal. And I was like, we want more of that. So, we're going to do that next year all the way around. So, tell us about what it is that you're going to be doing for the Expo and for our exhibitors and attendees.

[00:25:22.190] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
So, again, this is just a bigger space that I'm going to do it for instead of a home to go in and find any negative column, negative vortexes, negative energy fields, any lower vibrational energies that might be interfering or creating stress for either the exhibiters or the visitors. So, I'm going to go in and raise the vibration of the entire space. So, everybody in that space for the entire day has an uplifting, wonderful experience. There's no interference from anything that people want to do there.

[00:26:03.770] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And it is it really makes for a remarkable feel for people to be in. And I think because all of our exhibitors tend to be very high energy, it's just going to amplify it. So much for people. So if you're really wanting to feel good and spend some time around some real high-energy people, come to the expo on Saturday and be with us on Saturday. So, you are also going to be having a booth at the expo. And what can people experience when they come to your booth?

[00:26:37.100] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
Well, they're going to have an experience. I love to. I have products that are infused with light frequencies, energy rings, essences. So, what I love to do is clear people's energy fields with an energy ring. I have them stand in the energy ring so they can feel the energy that it's infused with. I also dowse to see what essence they need. So, there are 12 different essences that have different qualities of wisdom, joy, clarity, empowerment. And so I dowse to see what essence your energy or your soul is needing at this moment. And then we spray the essence and most people feel the difference. Sometimes they see the energy, the color that I'm spraying. So, it helps. I want people to come to the booth to have an experience of energy, whatever that looks like for them, and how to use these products to raise the vibration of their own energy field or of their homes. So, they're going to learn all about that.  It's really fun. Again, it's experiential and it's a really fun experience. I want to give people something to help them understand energy.

[00:28:09.530] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And you're also going to be doing a workshop for us.

[00:28:11.840] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
Yes.

[00:28:12.230] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so what is it, you're going to be doing dowsing demos itself?

[00:28:17.000] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
Yeah, I just kept it, General. So, I've talked about dowsing and I can talk until I'm blue in the face, but until people experience it, they it doesn't sink in. So, the first thing I'm going to do is douse the room that I'm going to be speaking in so people can feel the energy shift as I douse the room. But I'm also going to do and I'm sure there'll be enough time for it, but I'm going to douse somebody in the room. So, it's an understanding that the energy that we live in, sleep, and live in, we carry with us. And it creates a law of attraction. And I can dowse somebody's home by dousing their body, by dousing their energy field. So, I'm going to demonstrate how that works, that we're carrying this vibration in our field, and how I can tap into that and tap into the energy that you're sleeping in by dowse your body.

[00:29:20.000] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, that is really interesting. And people can really I just know from all the work that you've done with me and with our family, with our family homes, just what a difference it has made for us. And it is really remarkable. So, I really want people to come in and be open to it and just experience what it is that you offer, because it is a special gift that you can provide to people. And when you're needing something to just feel good, especially in these times when our energies can get a little lower, we're coming into, you know, I mean, the political environment, things that are happening are one thing, but then we're also coming into winter and people can get kind of that, you know, funky feeling that way as well, for lack of a better terminology. But it's a great way to really just lift the energy. This whole day is really about being together, lifting your energy, learning, experiencing something really special and just being able to rejuvenate and really get back out there with us. So, what do you... Go ahead.

[00:30:36.350] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
We're talking about, you know, the homes and the energy? So, a lot of times when people have this work done, they feel like they have an energetically safe environment to live in. So, it's like their safe space. And you mentioned, like, everything that's happening outside of us, around us, it's like it's nice to have a place to go to that you feel energetically supported. And I call them creating enlightened spaces, creating an enlightened home. So, now the energy of your space is filled with light and it's supporting you and what you're here to do and what you want to do and your expansion as you continue to go up to the world.

[00:31:19.970] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And shouldn't that be what we have in our homes every time?

[00:31:23.010] - Annette Rugolo, Guest
Yes, absolutely.

[00:31:24.980] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Well, thank you for being with us. I'm really excited for what you're going to be providing to our attendees and to our other exhibitors as well. I also want to let people know one of our guests could not be with us today, but they... It was Andy Batcheller with Aniva Health. Aniva Health is a natural supplement store, natural supplement manufacturer right here in Plymouth. So, they provide products that are clean and healthy and they are going to be demonstrating just a number of products at their booth. Over 30 different products, including clean protein, healthy cooking oil, liquid nutrition. And they'll be also talking about, Andy is going to be actually doing a presentation on the seven days no dieting total body detox plan.

[00:32:21.890]
So, if you can imagine what it would be like to eat normal while you detox and firm up your waistline, that is something that is pretty special. And people, really, I know quite a few people who have gone through this process, and it is it can be very transformative for them. And so, he'll be sharing that at their breakout session and they'll also be giving out a ton of different samples that you can try. I use many of their supplements myself, as do other people in our family, and they truly are really phenomenal products that I hope you will stop by and take a look at. So, Lily, were you with us last year?

[00:33:04.190] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Yes, that was actually Bhakti's first year at the Your Shining Life Expo, and we had an absolute blast. It was amazing.

[00:33:11.300] - Candi Broeffle, Host
It is a lot of fun. And I just can't wait for everybody to come back out and see us on Saturday. I am getting so excited about it more and more every day. So, for people who, Lily, by the way, we're going to come back and we're going to talk about Bhakti and what it is that you're going to be doing at the event as well. And so, for people who want to learn more about Your Shining Life Expo and to register for the event, visit YourShiningLifeExpo.com.

You can find a podcast of this show on AM950Radio.com, on Apple and Google Podcasts, and anywhere you get your podcasts. You're listening to Green Tea Conversations on AM950, the Progressive Voice of Minnesota, and we will be right back.

[00:34:29.150] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Welcome back to Green Tea Conversations where we delve into the pages of Natural Awakenings magazine and talk to the experts who share their expertise on natural health with you. I'm your host, Candi Broeffle. And today in our studios, we have Chelsea Kazmierczak Goethel of Metro East Natural Healing Center. I am going to keep doing that. Annette Rugolo of Annette Rugolo and Lily McNamara of Bhakti Wellness Center. And now we're going to talk to Lily. So, Lily, tell us about the Bhakti Wellness Center.

[00:35:03.620] - Lily McNamara, Guest
So, Bhakti Wellness Center is located in Edina. And the thing I love most about it is that it's so diverse. It has over 25 different practitioners now doing everything from cranial sacral and massage and acupuncture to we actually have a physician and an M.D. and we do all kinds of spiritual work, reiki, energy, healing, spiritual direction. So, I love the fact that we're all so diverse and have a really unique way of looking at things. And then we all come together to help whoever walks through the door in any way that we can.

[00:35:38.450] - Candi Broeffle, Host
I think that's what's so unique too that I found with Bhakti is because you have all of those different services that you provide and different practitioners, but you can support your client from the beginning to end, I mean, they come in, they might be coming in for a chiropractic appointment. And, you know, you discover maybe they need some nutrition assistance or a massage or whatever, and they can be referred on to another practitioner who can help with that. So, it's kind of like a one-stop-shop.

[00:36:10.640] - Lily McNamara, Guest
It is. It's really convenient. And then the other thing that's really nice is that we all communicate with each other. So, it's, if you have a client who's doing energy work and acupuncture and massage, then the providers all talk to each other. Oh, what does this person need? How often should they be seeing each of us to really make it so that you're getting the best combination and that it's really in sync so that it can just help you as quickly as possible?

[00:36:36.170] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And what is it that you do at Bhakti?

[00:36:38.630] - Lily McNamara, Guest
So, the holistic practitioner. I treat the mind, body, and soul. And I specialize in spiritual practices mainly. So, I do reiki and soul-directed advanced energy healing. I do soul direction and a psychic medium. And then I also do like pet healing. God help the puppies and then physically I do Gosha and microcurrent facials. And I'm actually part of the PI team, the personal injury team to treat motor vehicle accidents.

[00:37:09.030] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Okay, while there is a lot there and I was trying to remember everything so I could ask you about specific things, but what is Gwoza?

[00:37:16.280] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Gwoza is a tool-assisted bodywork where you scrape the skin with like oil or lotion on it and it helps break up adhesions and stagnant blood and scar tissue. It's done in Asia mostly. And it's you can do it on the face very gently and it helps just circulate your lymph. And it's wonderful and it helps a lot of people gently heal.

[00:37:42.520] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And you said you also do microcurrents.

[00:37:44.640] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Yes.

[00:37:45.180] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so what is microcurrent?

[00:37:47.180] - Lily McNamara, Guest
So, a microcurrent is basically a small electrical current that matches your body's natural electricity. We're all made of electricity. So, you don't feel it when it's going through you. You might feel like a little dizzy or euphoric, but other than that, you don't feel it and it matches your body's natural frequency in each part of your body, your heart, your skin, your bones has a different frequency. So, it matches that so that your body will heal. So, if you're out of sync, it'll help sync you up so that you actually heal.

[00:38:18.800] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so people do this with facials as well, correct?

[00:38:21.810] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Yes. And it leaves you with a gorgeous glow. I recommend doing it before any big event like weddings. My mom does it before she travels with my dad on business trips where she has to do like fancy dinners. She gets a facial every time before she goes so that she looks like young and beautiful.

[00:38:37.550] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Well, and if you use that, you have the most beautiful skin for somebody who's 65 years old, you don't look anything over 25.

[00:38:44.900] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Thank you. I am well over 25. So, thank you.

[00:38:50.510] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Well, you don't look like you're at all 25. So, now I have to come and do that microcurrent facial as well.

[00:38:58.280] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Definitely. You come in, I'll take care of you after the expo. We'll pamper you.

[00:39:02.180] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Maybe I need it before, it's a big event, right? So Lily you are going to, what are people going to be able to experience when they come up to the Bhakti?

[00:39:13.610] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Because we have so many different providers who are going to be participating. We actually have a chiropractor who's going to be there and a massage therapist. And something really cool is our neurofeedback equipment. So, brain training and stuff. So we'll have little samples of that. And then the thing that I'm most excited about because I'm a child at heart is we have a prize wheel. So, you spin the wheel and it's really exciting for a chance to win a free service with one of our providers. So, you get to experience the healing and see if you want to commit before having to pay anything.

[00:39:44.060] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so, they get to experience it right there at that time. Or is it something that they'll make an appointment for later?

[00:39:50.210] - Lily McNamara, Guest
The prize wheel is the winners would make an appointment later, but the things at the booth would be like I'll be doing or an intuitive mini session, and then we have the neurofeedback training. There might be a massage chair available. So, it'll just be fun to get to experience that with everybody.

[00:40:07.490] - Candi Broeffle, Host
Yeah, and so are those services are those what we call low cost or those no cost?

[00:40:15.560] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Everything at the table should be no cost for us because we want just to give back to the community. And the awesome experience that this expo is and all of the wonderful people who help run it.

[00:40:25.280] - Candi Broeffle, Host
And so it's really, again, you know, the event is Saturday, this Saturday, November 9th, starts at 9:30 AM goes until 4 PM. Plan to make a day of it. Come and visit us and be there with us all day. But the event is free and then you come in and you get to experience so many of these free services as well, which is really such a phenomenal thing for people to be able to do, if you're just curious, if you just want to learn about it a little bit come on in. But now, Lily, you're also going to be doing a workshop at the event.

[00:40:59.190] - Lily McNamara, Guest
Yes, and I'm super excited about it. I actually got the idea from working at Bhakti and working with so many amazing people that holistic health is, it's the mind, body, and spirit. And you need all of those in balance and they all affect each other. And so, it's going to be about holistic health.

[00:41:16.080]
What is it? How do you optimize each one of those three-legged stools as we discussed earlier, and then in the middle, there's going to be a meditation to help you calm and ground and really feel each one of those states of being within yourself to discover what you specifically need for that, because everyone's physical is different. Some people need more water. Some people need more vitamin D, go into your soul, and figure out what that is. And at the end, I will be discussing the integrative techniques of Bhakti in the different services and providers and how you can get holistic health at the one-stop-shopping type thing.

[00:41:51.210] - Candi Broeffle, Host
So, when people are really out there and they're trying to find some alternatives for what they're currently doing, all of these are really great opportunities for people to expand what it is that they currently know and to really be able to just learn more about what's out there, what are the natural opportunities, and to help in healing just to support ourselves.

[00:42:17.250]
