What's All Your Working For?
December 19, 2018
Do you ever ask yourself why are you working so hard? What's it all about or for anyway? Questioning this is common - not just at this time of year, although it is pretty common as the end of the year comes closer and people start to feel a bit tired and ratty... Shandra had a conversation recently that included someone asking this rhetorical question, and although it wasn't appropriate for her to share it at the time, a little story came to mind that highlights how important it is to ask this question, to consider how you answer it and most importantly what you do about it! In this episode Shandra share's a story about a Mexican fisherman - disclaimer: includes a bit of an occasional dodgy Mexican accent - and how you can this story as a tool to reflect on what you're doing for work and in your life right now, especially as you hopefully go into some time off over the end of the year... Have a listen and you can see what the moral of the story is, which character you are most like and what it prompts for you in your own situation. Thanks for listening!
