Sara has close to three decades of experience working in the energy sector, both in academia and in the industry itself. Currently she is a Professor at Newcastle University where she is the Director of  the Newcastle University Centre of Research Excellence in Energy, a collaboration of over 100 academic and research staff leading research activities on clean and affordable low carbon energy. Prior to Newcastle, she was the Director of Business and Engagement in Engineering and Environment at Northumbria University.
