July 21, 2021
Welcome to the 44th episode of the podcast series. In today's podcast, we talk with Rosa Antonia Carrillo, "The First Lady of Safety Leadership" and the author of the book The Relationship Factor in Safety Leadership: Achieving Success through Employee Engagement.
Hi Safety FM listeners, this is Brent Sutton, one of the co-hosts of the new podcast series The Practice of Learning Teams, with my fellow co-hosts Glynis McCarthy and Brent Robinson.

Our goal is to support you on your journey and build a better community of practice for Learning Teams.

On today's podcast of the show, we talk with Rosa Antonia Carrillo, the author of the book The Relationship Factor in Safety Leadership: Achieving Success through Employee Engagement.

I call Rosa “The First Lady of Safety Leadership”.  Her book The Relationship Factor in Safety Leadership is a great reminder about the need to humanise safety and the core eight beliefs about human nature that are common to leaders who successfully communicate that safety is important while meeting business results. Using stories and business language the book explains how to create and recover important stakeholder relationships by setting priorities and taking action based on these beliefs.

In this two-part series, Glynis McCarthy and I talk with Rosa and her cats, on her journey so far and the value of engagement and communication.

Please sit back and enjoy as we explore the journey of The First Lady of Safety Leadership.
