Kate Galli is a health coach and trainer in Sydney, Australia, as well as a health and animal rights activist.
Howard spoke with her about the three biggest obstacles to going plant-based that she encounters in her clients, and how she deals with them.
Obstacle #1: they don't want to stand out and are hesitant to inconvenience others.
While ethical vegans aren't going to "slip up" - their beliefs are "locked and loaded" - those going plant-based for health reasons often see room for leeway, which can become a slippery slope.
Her strategies include connecting her clients to their values and beliefs, reminding them of the opportunity to be a trailblazer and help others, and noticing how they navigate their standards and actions in domains in which they're currently successful.
Obstacle #2: they're confused because of all the online propaganda from big meat and dairy

Obstacle #3: they think that vegan food is boring and restrictive
