The best predictor of success

In this episode we talk about the best predictor of success. It's not what you think.
Some of you are not going to like this podcast because it might just open your eyes and make you think about things that is uncomfortable to think about. But today, we're going to talk about the best predictor of success, and the best predictor of success is the family that you were born into. So what does that mean?
Take, for example, my family. My father has a PhD. He was a NASA engineer. He is now a college professor. And because me being his son growing up, I've had access to his realm; I have a better chance of ending up in those same places. So if I wanted to follow in my father's footsteps and be a NASA engineer, it wouldn't be too difficult for my dad to talk to one of his colleagues and get me a job. And this is why the family that you're born into is so important. And why privileges the thing? The more money that someone has, and the more network connection that someone has, they're going to be better off. You're going to have way more exposure to different things than someone else. If you have, and I'm just making an example out of nowhere. I don't know how much a woodshed maker makes or if that's even a real thing.
But let's say a woodshed maker has a family and that person's son, and let's say it like it's a really low-income job. That person's Children aren't going to have the same kind of exposure to met schools and things. If they want to be a doctor, for example, then a doctor's Children. A doctor's child is way more likely to become a doctor than a woodshed person. I don't even know what a which that person is, but I'm gonna look that up one day. Probably not. So is This is really the idea behind privilege. Um, I definitely recognize my privilege. I've had a lot of leg ups in my life, and I owe it to, really just this grand kind of luck, like I don't even know how you would describe it, and because I recognize it.
I also do see that I have some kind of responsibility to maybe give some other people a lucky chance and, well, I'm not there yet. I think I try to make that happen in little different ways, but it would be really nice if you could do it in big ways much later. So I guess that part is to be continued.
