Robin shares her website process of starting from scratch, to using a website building service, back to eventually doing it herself based on the skills and setbacks within each phase. She highlights what changes improved her website and advice on launching your very first website.
Outsourcing your website may seem the most practical way of setting up your website. You pay someone to write your copy, make the site searchable, and make it look pretty. But Robin found that depending on who you hire for the task, you might only get one of the three, or none in some cases. And even if you look for referrals from friends and colleagues you might not get the same experience they had.
Robin started her website as she began setting up her practice. She wanted people to see her as a legitimate business, so she began posting blogs and an information page. She felt something was missing and was referred to Brighter Visions by a colleague. The final product wasn't what she envisioned, so she went back to creating her own. After joining Business School for Therapists, she refined her website with a designer to match her voice and practice.
