19 - Hit the Reset Button: Determine Your Family's Priorities

In this episode, Katie and Graham discuss the value of taking a step back and conducting a family evaluation. No matter when you're accessing this episode, if it's been a while since you've done this -- or if you've never done it at all -- now is a great time to take stock of where God has been at work and where He may want to use you for the upcoming season. Like any organization, the family periodically needs an evaluation so we can think deeply about what's going well, what's not going well -- and what we can do about the things that aren't as they should be. It will take some work but it's so worth it!

- SERVICE: How have we as a family served others together this year? If it’s not to the level we want, how can we change that in 2022? How can we serve together as a family?
- GROWTH: Am I growing in my personal relationship with Christ? Am I regularly reading His Word and praying?
- PRAYER: Do we regularly have spiritual conversations and pray together?
- MARGIN: How much margin is there in our schedule to respond to needs around us? Is this a good pattern or should it be adjusted one direction or the other?
- FUN: Are we regularly having fun and making memories together?
- PRIORITIES: As a family, do we spend time and energy on the endeavors that align with our values and are most important to us in the long run?
- MODELING: Are we actively discipling and modeling a faithful Christian life for our kids?
- TEACHING: Are we regularly teaching the Bible to your children?
- MARRIAGE: How healthy is our marriage? Are we spending enough 1-on-1 time together? Are we praying together? Is our communication frequent and meaningful?
- HOME: Does our home feel peaceful and restful? Is it a good place for each member to recharge, connect with God and connect with each other?
- PRESSURES: What pressures may be tempting us to lose focus on what’s most important?
