Cliff is a gifted communicator who has spent many years with young people, learning their habits and challenges, and has much to teach us! In this interview, Cliff:
- shares about the ministry of Charlotte Eagles;
- discusses his experience with YoungLife and how God used YoungLife in his own life;
- expounds brilliantly on the concept of "incarnational" ministry;
- wisely urges parents not to give their young people too much space (and be strategic when they do give space);
- helps us see that adults simply don't understand how young people experience the online world and reminds us that it is not the same world parents grew up in;
- discusses a young person's need to belong and how it fits within Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs;
- talks about modeling repentance to our kids;
- shares about how we should treat failure as not a big deal;
- warns us to make sure our homes are places without shame;
- urges Christian parents to make their homes the Grand Central Spot in our neighborhoods for kids, to do it well & invite in other kids;
- encourages us to see our house and families as "lighthouses";
- encourages us to help our kids see the story that God is writing in our families and their place in it;
- challenges us to come up with a family mission statement.
