Powers of Unconscious Mind
May 14, 2019
The unconscious mind holds a strong power that can dictate your current perceptions of the world. Unleash and control it to design the life you wish as you clear unwanted reactions and negative charges that cloud your state of mind. Hinging on repetition, loop positive suggestions to your subconscious to redirect negativities. Furthermore, foster a better understanding of what you want in life while increasing self-confidence, courage, and conviction in moving forward.
Do you appreciate the power of your subconscious mind?

The subconscious mind is a powerful force. It has it’s own unique way of perceiving the world. What is really happening around you is less important than what your subconscious mind thinks is happening. In other words, your perception is your reality.

Whatever it perceives to be a problem, it will remedy. It will solve that problem for you – whether you are aware of that problem or not.

For instance, if you have an image of yourself in your mind as overweight or as a poor public speaker or as just plain poor, your subconscious mind will help you to achieve that image. It will help you to stay overweight (keep that image for you) or keep nervous or poor.

Remember, the image in your mind is what the subconscious perceives as the truth. Very little logic operates in the subconscious; emotions and old tapes dictate much of your behaviour. The subconscious mind focuses on those goals and sets out to achieve them.

We have opinions, our subconscious does not. It operates only from information stored in its memory.

After the age of eight years, when that Critical Factor develops, we can be critical about the information we accept; the subconscious accepts whatever we send to it, it is non-judgmental.

Willpower cannot override it for any length of time. We can try and try and try again every diet going and our subconscious will bring us right back to that inner image. Fortunately, it cannot differentiate between what is real and what is imagined. That can be a help to us, too.

And that’s the power of Hypnosis. Hypnosis or hypnotherapy is the way to access your subconscious mind and to replace those old tapes with your new choices, the new image of how you see yourself. That may be as a slimmer you, as a great public speaker, as a successful business person or baseball player or golfer, as a non-smoker, as a person with a stronger, healthier body, or as almost anything you choose.

The subconscious is called a servo-mechanism; that is, a machine that automatically steers itself towards a goal. So, you want to change? Then make it Your Servant.

Every day of our lives, we are making decisions about how our world is. We tend to make those decisions without going back to reassess them. Some of our behaviour today may be based on decisions we made when we were children and we continue to reinforce them. They may have served us then but are no longer appropriate or functional.

“Every time my co-worker acts like that, I get mad”

“Finish all you dinner, think of the poor starving children in…”

“If I look at a brownie, I put on 5 pounds.”

“I have a big day tomorrow. I know I won’t sleep.”

“I’ve tried everything to quit. I just can’t do it.”

“My memory is poor.”

“I never do well on exams.”

“No matter how hard I try, I always fail.”
“I am stupid.”

“I’ve always been an average golfer.”

“Rich people must be cheats.”

“It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.”

And the list goes on. For more on this go to Positive and Negative Thoughts.

We know how powerful advertising is but we don’t often realise how powerful our own thoughts are in directing our lives. Its all the power of suggestion.

That brings us to repetition. Our subconscious mind thrives on repetition. Just as advertisers know that their ads are more effective when we see or hear them repeatedly, so, too, is it important for you to hear those positive suggestions repeatedly for your ultimate success.

Listen to your hypnosis tapes often, read or say your affirmations, and redirect your negative thoughts. Go on, say some nice things about yourself. I can... achieve all the changes I want.....I am...perfect just the way I am.

In hypnotherapy, perhaps the greatest skill comes with developing positive suggestions. You can learn to talk to your subconscious mind in the way it can understand.

* Memories are actually re-created each time we recall them. They are not ‘stored’ as complete entities within the preconscious — or anywhere else for that matter. Because of this, our memories can change over time.
The unconscious mind has a different role. Its job is to run both our bodies and minds. It regulates our heartbeat and controls all our vital organs. Its prime directive, however, is survival.

During moments of disequilibrium, the unconscious takes over the job of the conscious mind and begins recording and storing percepts. The unconscious mind does not attempt to make sense of what it records or stores, and it is from out of this jumble of stored percepts that reactions are born.

In the first seven years of our life, we do not consciously learn. This is because learning officially begins when the brain begins to shift predominantly to alpha frequencies. In the first even years of our life, our brain functions predominantly in theta frequencies. This is the state that when we are in it as adults, we can be more easily influenced and persuaded.

As children, in this state we are programmed with a whole lot of command that thereafter run our lives. Since when we are being programmed, we are unaware of this state, we do not recognize or realize how much programming we have taken on. After we are programmed, we forget about these programs and then we promptly forget that we were programmed. Then we forget that we forgot.

It is only later on in life when we keep running into limiting patterns that we start questioning the basis for our limited choices that bring us pain. The unconscious is also responsible for activating reactions. Some reactions are essential to our well being and survival. For example, touch a hot stove and your immediate reaction is to snatch your hand away quickly. The reaction saves you from severely burning yourself. Not all reactions, however, serve such a useful purpose.

For example, reactions can cause unwanted feelings and emotions. They can cause stress and illness, physical as well as mental. They can cause you to act irrationally and illogically. They can, and do, affect every part of your life.

Your unconscious mind is the single source of your reactions. It is also the source of all stress-related illnesses and conditions. These include acne, bulimia nervosa, the common cold, diabetes, headaches, insomnia, obesity, ulcers, and many more besides. In fact, recent studies show that 80% of visits to British doctors are related to stress.

Once you have completely cleared your unconscious mind of unwanted reactions and negative ‘charges’, you will attain a new state of mind that. The benefits of being in this new state are enormous. For example, it gives you a general sense of well being. Your mind can function at its optimum level. Decision making and reflexes (physical, as well as mental) improve.

The ability to absorb and retain information becomes far easier. Memory recall improves dramatically. You will have a better understanding of what you want from life. Your confidence and belief in your abilities will grow immensely. You will have the courage and conviction to go for and attain your goals in life.
