Maximizing Minimalism With Rich Bustos

On this week's episode of Millennials and Money our guest, former Software Engineer with Linked IN and Minimalist Rich Bustos shares his money story. Today 29-year-old Rich Bustos is on a “Sabbatical” living off the returns of his Real Estate Assets and Investment Portfolio. With passive income as well as a house paid for Rich is living quite the desirable life, however, it wasn't always that way. Rich grew up in the Bay Area and his parents worked blue-collar jobs and instilled in Rich that it's not about how much money you make but what you do with it, this is a concept Rich took to heart. Listen as Rich shares how after he graduated high school while his classmates went on to major universities and moved out Rich stayed at home with his parents and began to work retail jobs living off a budget of $400 a month and investing everything he earned above that into a Stock Portfolio. Eventually Rich got an opportunity to accept an intern position at LinkedIn as a Software Engineer and his income increased substantially but Rich stuck to his budget of $400 a month and continued to invest everything else. Rich shares how despite having more than enough income to provide for his lifestyle he found himself suffering from panic attacks and was prescribed medication from a doctor.
